Guest guest
Better safe than sorry, and using an anti-fungal shampoo or cream won't hurt him. get one of those cones to go around his head so he dosn't lick it off and make sure the shampoo sits at least 3 to 4 mins before rinsing off.  From: listspub <listspub@...> Subject: [] When to use an antifungal Date: Monday, August 30, 2010, 3:40 PM Im getting mixed answers about using antifungal shampoo on dogs.. Im thinking this choice is less an issue since you are washing away the dead spores, fragments.. Then there is the issue of fungal infection of the skin.. animals and people.. you have to treat, dont you.. with shampoo, cream? Thank you... Guest guest
For pets: found a soft plastic collars to prevent licking. It isn't rigid. I don't remember where I got it now but it's handy if you put something on their coat, not to lick off right away. It kind of looks like a bib that goes all the way around. Here some similar types. I actually put it on the other way, but and it works pointing away from fact too >>http://www.google.com/products?hl=en & client=firefox-a & hs=x2w & rls=org.mozilla:e\ n-US:official & q=elizabethan+collar+soft & um=1 & ie=UTF-8 & ei=Om98TNGTH4-LnQek2dSXCw & \ sa=X & oi=product_result_group & ct=image & resnum=1 & ved=0CC8QzAMwAA > > Better safe than sorry, and using an anti-fungal shampoo or cream won't hurt him. get one of those cones to go around his head so he dosn't lick it off and make sure the shampoo sits at least 3 to 4 mins before rinsing off.  >
Guest guest
Thanks you two.. promise the questions will die down eventually.. Do you all think that some burning skin symptoms could actually be fungus infection of the skin? Do you know how to self diagnose a fungal skin infection? ive read of using UV lights but am not sure those are available to the public.. then.. I am wondering if there are certain color lights that kill fungus.. like blue light kills strep or staph infections.. ( mentioned using colored light in another post I need to dig up.. cant remember what for though). Thanks again! Guest guest
Robin, germicidal UV lights should never be used on the skin and should not let your eyes be exposed to them for even a little while. I used them for 6 months in my trials of de-contaminating object. I did not find them effective, and they really destroy things I and many people I know experience burning skin from mold growth. It may be the toxin, as in super strength, it does burn most peoples skin. Clothes and objects exposed to mold burn my skin, and the back of my throat, and my eyes. Guest guest
Thanks, .. my parents tested their cars and they have high levels of mold spores (air sampling). I am not sure if this is not just outside are circulating in car..?? But they were advised to use UV lights to kill the mold.. which I know will leave fragments and toxins, antigens... sheesh.. this is complicated. Im not sure how air circulates in a car and how to clean a spore-y car and if possible.. there was no A/P as was in the house.. I think many of these spores are outdoor spores. Guest guest
Robin out of curiosity how much has this affected your parents? It seems like they would be extremely ill when you consider their age, hopefully that's not the case. Guest guest
Wel, seemingly A/P is a generic term aand can mean close to anything. So we dont know exactly what they were exposed to. My mother had recurrent bouts of pneumonia and still have issues. My father sounds terrible and has breathing issues that he thinks is due to BP med.. that he keeps changing and it comes back.. so not sure there.. his kidney labs just came back in serious ramge with a GFR rate of 33.. very low.. ?? They live in constant pain and have for years so hard to judge there. They tend to generalize their symptoms while we ar sensitive to each one.. they tend to lump them all together. Guest guest
Tug, remember that not every one is affected the same by mold, we have one very sick person out of a family of 4, our dog is fine too.......sue v. >Robin out of curiosity how much has this affected your parents? Guest guest
Hi Robin, The exact same exposure to mold in a car, happened to MY father, for a period of 2 years. He had all the symptoms that your parents have. It killed him on October 11, 2008. I would be willing to speak, on the phone, directly with your parents. They will never believe your warnings, as you are their child, as MY father never believed MY warnings, for the same reason. Email me, for my phone number, for you, or them, to phone me. I can mail, or email, a copy of my father's death certificate, to you, or to them. God Bless. Guest guest
oh my.. I am so sorry, Joe. Was mold growing in your fathers car? I dont know what to think of the mold. Its not growing in the cars. Both have high levels. They just did exterior repair work on their house and I am thinking it was exterior air registering high levels from the disturbance of earth and plant material.. ?? It just doesnt make sense otherwise.. also the car door had to be opened to measure the air and its such a concentrated space.. the tape sample showed nothing. It jut doesnt make sense becasue there is no wate damage and if it was from their WDB/house.. the high counts were of the mysterious A/P label and this did not register in the car. They decided to UV light the cars and have them cleaned well. At this point I dont know what is right anymore and am steppiing out of the way. I got them to remediate, though not with the folks I wish they had chosen and its been long rocky road. I hope they've clened thigns up enough to start healing. If they dont.. its out of my control. They are considering replacing their furniture but are not planning to move out. My mother is better. My father is the one who worries me. Im betting my HLA type comes from him. If there is no improvement in teh near future, I think they understand it might be best to get out of the house and see how that feels. Thank you so much for offering. Guest guest
Dont I know it Sue, as I stated earlier the previous owner of our house had mold growing in the a/c coils and lived here for 10 years with her 2 dogs and to my knowledge she never had a problem. I've lived her for 4 months and can no longer go in the basement because I get so light headed > > Tug, > > remember that not every one is affected the same by mold, we have one > very sick person out of a family of 4, our dog is fine too.......sue v. > > >Robin out of curiosity how much has this affected your parents? Guest guest
May I suggest that you conduct this scientific experiment. Wait until it's a rainy day. After the rain stops, and the outside of the car is completely dry, open up the car door, and take the palm of your hand, and press down on the floor carpeting in the front and back of the car. If the carpeting is sopping wet, then there is mold growing in the car. You don't have to see the mold, or test for the presence of mold. The water, and the carpet, and the heat of the inside of your car [from sunlight] have produced a killer crop of mold. What has happened to your car[and what happened to my father's car]is that the rainwater has pooled between the carpeting and the metal floor underneath the carpeting. The carpeting has acted as a " wick " , soaking up a steady supply of water, from the reservoir of water, below the carpeting, and has provided a constantly wet growth medium for mold. If you have made sure that you have not stepped inside the car wearing wet shoes, you have discovered that there is an opening [not visible] in the metal or rubber of the car, [caused by either rust or poor construction of the car], through which rain has been getting inside the car every time it rains. Your car has become the perfect mold farm, producing a new crop of mold from every rainstorm. Joe ............................................. > > oh my.. I am so sorry, Joe.
