Guest guest
Well, chemotherapy drugs are toxic and they are used to get rid of cancer, but *I would never take them. There are different viewpoints by individuals and by institutions. I guess, in this area, you just pick your poison, so to speak. > > We should never stimulate pro inflammatory cytokines? Guest guest
When considering why some otherwise harmful substances result in improvement, don't forget about " masking. " Masking of physical symptoms should not be confused with improvement of health. Consider smoking. It is a fantastic mask for all kinds of ailments. Until the lung cancer or other respiratory diseases kill you. Go to 's Web site at: http://drclaudiamiller.com/ for excellent information on masking. She is the one who figured out why others couldn't devise a statistically valid " measure " of impact for chemical (and now some mold exposures). They didn't consider the complicating factor of " masking. " Carl Grimes Healthy Habitats LLC

Guest guest
Robin, one thing that might come into play with weither some can tolerate or get benifits from even a pure beta gluten might depend on what kind of damages they suffered with their WDB exposure. one that comes to mind is CNS damage. some might not tolerate haveing their immune systems overly stimulated to well. seems if the brain and the body are not communicateing like they should, it could have no effect or a bad effect. the important thing, if your going to try it is to first get to a state were you can reconize if it has a bad effect or no effect or good effect. I dont think anyone can tell you if something is going to work for you or not. I dont think anyone can truely say it worked or didn't work for me so it has to be the same for you. somethings you just have to try I guess, if your convienced it might help, later on when you get to the point of trying it, you can report to us the results. however it's kind of like beating a dead horse to keep hashing on it, see what I'm saying? I'm not saying that to be mean. for some things your not going to get a answer, you can only get opinions. it is a fungal by product, risk of getting a pure form might be iffy. if your looking for someone to say it's good and you should do it, I dont think you'll get that answer hear. ps, some of us dont tolerate anything fermented and even probiotics can have bad side effects and you can find information out there that even to much of that isn't good. you go to researching enough and your going to find that for every claim of good, theres also claims of bad. than you have to view both sides and try to deturmine what fits with our illness. the medical field of science is not perfect by a long shot. > > We should never stimulate pro inflammatory cytokines? Guest guest
I agree with Jeanine. Plus medical science is mostly investigating pharmaceutical drugs back by that money and other research is inadequate due to lack of funding. You have to read and come to your own conclusions on conflicting information and opinions. > > > > We should never stimulate pro inflammatory cytokines? Guest guest
Robin, I fell like during our exposure our immune system is in over drive and to me it doesn't seem logical to take anything that causes the immune system to over react. if your body sences beta gluten as a danger, it's going to over react to it. you might do a search of " the danger signal theory " it's a very interesting concept and for me it answered alot of questions that I wasn't seeing answered by the self,non-self models and what can happen with exposures. and I think it's proveing itself to be very true. I think I also posted some info about macrophages gone bad, where they go from helping to harming after toxin exposures. another interesting thought. I will see if I can locate them if you cant, sorry dont remeber the headings I might of posted them under. I usually posted stuff like that under the title of the study or article. > > Hi Jeanine.. I agree with you. Thank you. What I am hashing out though is the its all bad concept. Its not, right? If it is and there is good evidence or reasoning, I would like to know. > > No one can
Guest guest
I believe we have to take our supplements on a case by case method. For example, I take red yeast rice for cholesterol. Since, I have been taking it, my numbers have been perfect. Back when I was living in the moldy house, I would not considered taking red yeast rice. My friend had a serious case of cancer a few months ago and is taking beta - glucan and and medicinal mushrooms, she thinksher suppliments are keeping her cancer free and I am not one to doubt her. There have been positive studies regarding this product when used as a part of cancer prevention so I just don't want to throw the baby out with the bath. Many say it really keeps their allergies at bay. We have to remember, when reacting to a sick building we do become sensitive to a lot of foods as well as supplements. I would not eat bread back then because of the yeast contents but I will now because I am no longer in a sick building and basically about well from it all. I have not tried the beta - glucan. I don't need supplements at this time for my immunity as I have gotten pretty healthy. I am no longer suffering from mold issues and I keep my allergies controlled with shots. Some say to drink a little red wine for health. For me, I won't touch wine because my sister passed away with liver disease and she was not a drinker. I don't know if wine will harm me or not but why take the chance? Also, if one is in a sick building, wine is another product one should not ingest. All being said, back when I was living in a sick building and I was very ill, I was very careful with my foods and supplements. I would not take suppliments which contained yeast nor would I eat cheeses. Now that I am well, I can relax and have some cheese with my yeast roll. This is now and that was then. What might be good for one, might not be good for all. IMO, we need to stress the dangers of smoking while living in a sick building. I would like to know how many people who are suffering from sick building are still smoking. I don't think we discuss near enough the dangers of smoking and what it does to our health. What about the house which homed smokers for years. Wouldn't such a home be considered a sick building? IMO, yes. I get sick if I go into such a building even if smokers no longer live there. I would rather ingest yeast than to poison my body with smoke and nicotine. And yes, I was once a smoker.
Guest guest
This is very helpful. Thank you. I have to order new supps to take to new location and will try to keep the yeasty supps out as much as possible and then add in at a later date if see the need... same with foods. The problem is that there are quite a few supps made from yeasts including b vitamins. Its also nice to hear how your process. Thanks for this.. Guest guest
You can get your b vitamins from a non yeast source. I can't remember the maker but I am pretty sure it is Nature's Plus. Nature's Plus has some of the best and most pure vitamins on the market. > > This is very helpful. Thank you. Guest guest
Now that this has been addressed, I have to respond. I read a post, somewhere in a discussion on this site, I think, in which a person severely ill from exposure and sensitivities said that smoking didn't create any reactions!  Yikes! I can see that smoking would cause the " masking " that Dr. discusses. I know that I thought that having my martini on Fridays actually made me feel better; it seemed that my lungs hurt less. I'm sure that's another example of masking! The moment I discovered that my liver had to be detoxed, I quit even the occasional social drinking I did. Why further work an already overworked organ so necessary to my survival?  While some ask for the science that backs certain claims, we need not look farther than the cigarette packs themselves to find the warning. We know, without a doubt, the poisons that are contained within cigarettes. I don't understand, truly, anyone who reaches the point of chemical sensitivity that some of us have reached and who still continues smoking. It's like reaching out for a life preserver while you are drowning, while at the same time, attaching your ankle to a 1000-pound cement anchor. I smoked at one time, and I so understand how difficult it is to quit. Best thing I ever did...difficult, but do-able! Good thoughts, folks. No judgment but wishes of health for all of our wonderful members!! sally ________________________________ From: CU <jackiebreeze@...> Sent: Sat, September 4, 2010 7:56:06 PM Subject: [] Re: OT: Beta - Glucan  I believe we have to take our supplements on a case by case method.
