Well it appears I had allot of replies concerning air purifiers and I cant thank

you enough. My next question is for those that have an air purifier how much of

a difference did it make in the way you felt and how long did it take before you

noticed a difference?

Thanks again,

Tug

I have two Austin Airs..love them except for having to turn them upside down and

remove screws to change outer air filter. I can't say I feel different bec I

made so many changes at once but I can smell a difference in the air. Also I

don't have a 'respiratory illness' but a systemic one. It know people w

respiratory illnesses that have an immediate effect from an air purifier, a good

one anyway.

I bumped a key and the msg took off before I was done........

As I was saying, I have 3 Austin Helathmates and 1 IQ.  When I get symptoms

from pollution and other things I get a bad headache, my eyes, throat etc.

burn.  I have noticed that when I close myself up in my house with an air

cleaner running the symptoms start disappearing within a few hours.  Yesterday

I did my 2010 taxes, got very ill from the ink on the forms and tax booklets

and was still so ill when I went to bed, headache very bad and I felt like I was

going to throw up.  This was a job for 'superman', so I used the IQ in my

bedroom all night.  During the night I noticed my symptoms were gone and I felt

well this AM.

Hi Tug-

What exactly are you looking for in an air cleaner? I assume some form of

airborn erridication/ but can you be more detailed on what your goal is? Do you

currently have a specific problem with your living environment?

Kathy right now Im dealing with chemicals more so than mold. Im currently using

a box fan with a 3M air filter taped to it which seems to be working quite well.

Barb I just started using it 3 or 4 days ago so I havent changed it yet. How

long do you think I should wait before I buy a new one?

Hi Tug-

Wow, that is so sharp of you to have customized your own box fan. Maybe 3M will

hear about it and thus, a new product is born. But just make sure to get the

rights on the patent...lol.. Honestly, I am always so impressed by how creative

we can be when necessary.

Ok so I assume you're talking about one of the 3M Filtretes and if so, do you

also have some type of carbon filter attached to capture the voc's? Exactly

where are the voc's located in your home...are they isolated to a specific area

or object? Or did you do some type of construction project so they are now

floating around all over the place?

Where do you currently have the fan blowing..toward you, away from you..? What

room is the fan located?

There are options available but it depends upon what the person is trying to do.

So more info would be helpful.

Kathy, this isnt my idea I was told to do this by a very near dear friend who is

also hypersensitive to mold.
