Hi Ginger,

What alkalol?

I use plain sea salt and distill water. I can pretty much figure out how

much to pour since I have done it so long but I don't remember the exact

measurements. My dr recommends buying the packets..I can't think of the name

but they are pre-measured and pretty much the same thing I am using. He said

that since I insist on making my own, to use either sea salt or kosher

salt with distill water. One can add a pinch of baking soda for more cleaning

action and a smoother rinse. I too had horrible sinus issues in the mold.

Right now I have a cold but a cold is not near as bad as the kind of sinus

problems one gets from mold. One thing I almost forgot, mucnex (SP?) is

great for unclogging the sinuses. It is the main ingredient, guaifenesin 600

mgs which helps to unclogged. My family doctor prescribed the prescription

strength which is a higher dose but I can't remember how much. I don't think

one cannot get it by prescription any more. You can get the guaifensein at

Fred's for like 3.00 or 4.00...a lot less than the name brand. It is labeled

" Chest Congestion. " Just make sure it only has guaifenesin in it. Drink

tons of water with this stuff and it will clean the mucus out along with the

nasal rinse.
