Guest guest
I am so happy to see Dr. Vojdani back. What the State of California did to him because he was getting in the way of the insurance industry, is criminal. He is such a nice man. Sharon In a message dated 1/28/2011 6:10:11 P.M. Anyway, all 3 Parts to the Vojdani papers are posted on Immuno's rewly revised website: _http://www.immunoscienceslab.com/articles.html_ (http://www.immunoscienceslab.com/articles.html) I am so psyched about this...all my previous THelper protocols were tried before the Th17 discovery. So this gives me hope that maybe trying something targeted toward Th17 as suggested in his Part III may be of help. Hope rises again!! Kathy ------------------------------------------------- Dr. Thrasher, May I also have a copy Dr. Vojdani's papers. (I didn't have any luck trying to get them from PubMed as you mentioned earlier.) I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Debbie H

Guest guest
Hi Dr Thrasher and Group- Finally got through the Vojdani Papers...all 3 parts. All I can say is OMG, does he ever get it. Part I was hard to get through as it's so scientific but still a good review of the whole Th1/2 plus adding in the newer discovered Th17. Part II is without a doubt the first time I have ever seen anyone chart the relationship betw/gut barrier dysfunction, systemic inflammation and enhanced BBB permeability. Once again, right back to my early days with Dr when she would soapbox the importance of having a healthy gut. I think we spent my first 2 years doing just that w/Klebsiella here, Citrobacter there..just kept peeling the layers as they say. Part III is what I have been looking for where he actually gets into potential treatments. The thing that most jumped out is that " ROR.. is the key that unlocks the differentiation of niave T-cells to effector Th17 cells " . And then goes on to basically say eliminate the key and turn around the inflammtory reponse. Everywhere I go lately, I keep tripping upon Resveratrol and Curcumin. Not only does he discuss these but also includes Retonoic Acid, D3 and the importance of a quality probiotic. But then he adds something I am wondering if you might be able to clarify when he says " CAM practitioners may select lactic acid bacteria with Saccharomyces boulardii to enhance TGF-B bearing regulatory cells and inhibit proinflammatory cytokine production " . My question is do you know how he is using that word lactic acid? Is he talking about a combo probiotic that contains something that generates a lactic acid response in the body? Or is he talking about a probiotic that contains lactic acid? Or something totally different? He then goes on in Part III to give the most awesome explanation of Somastatin and now I know why the only thing that has ever worked for me is a LOT of daily 5HTP. And he also offers suggestions for NF-KB inhibition with Aged Garlic, Beta Carotene, Cucumin and Quercetin. And of course, all while also including potential traditional drug therapies as well. I can't thank you enough for posting about this. If you are aware of any CAM practioners who get this whole subject and also do phone consults, perhaps you can let me know. I go out of state to a CAM doc already who is great but this is self admittedly not his area. He will help w/testing but doesn't necessarily know what to do with the results. When I'm a little more up to it, will contact Immuno and Neuro and see if they might also refer a CAM. Now since they keep following me everywhere I go, off to find some quality Curcumin and Resveratrol..lol.. Kathy PS: Please note that I have no financial or vested interest in any person, place, object or anything else mentioned in this posting. ----------------------------------- In a message dated 1/28/2011 6:10:11 P.M. Guest guest
Kathy, I feel badly that your route to find someone who once again is emphasizing the gut as the mandatory place to begin, took so long. Now, I dont have a clue who this Vojdani person is, and I will read the links, as he sounds interesting. But here ios the bad news. Everything you said is old news. To those who been in the trenches, on a serious basis, of functional medicine, regardless of their degree, not only is this y.day's news, it's last decades news. It's so heartbreaking, is it not? scott _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of baahstun Sent: Tuesday, February 01, 2011 1:09 AM Subject: [] Re: VojdaniPapers Hi Dr Thrasher and Group- Finally got through the Vojdani Papers...all 3 parts. Guest guest
yes, I'm thinking it was 2007 when I posted the info. about the new findings of TH17 and the minute I read it I knew it played a role here. nothing like haveing your gut and BBB severely damaged and liveing with just how easily what can be ingested (and even inhaled)that causes inflammation can go to the brain let alone inflammation in the bowels. I fell even sometimes it's not just inflammation but also infection. nothing like haveing re-accureing meningitis to make you pay attn. please keep us informed on how it goes. > ----------------------------------- > In a message dated 1/28/2011 6:10:11 P.M.
