Guest guest
So finally, I have one piece of the puzzle as to what has made me so darn sick. It only took two doctor's appointments and three ER visits, the last one in which I insisted they do something other than take my blood AGAIN (and badly, collapsing my veins and leaving huge bruises so that I look like I shoot drugs). I basically put the darn stool collector in the toilet myself and said, " There's a stool for you to culture, okay " They also did a urine culture (round of applause for the doc actually doing something). I have no specifics as to what exactly was found in urine or gut because my doctor's nurse called to say they got sent the results, but I have bacteria in both...big time. Hence the belly distending, cramping, etc. etc. Hence lower abdominal pain. Cipro 2 x for 14 days. I hate Cipro but okay... Looks like bacteria in upper small intestine, specifically (my symptoms match where this would originate, according to online sources). Eliminating starch has completely helped my GERD, which was made much worse by this whole ordeal. Key questions: How can I have bacteria in both at once? As I said, I have to find out what kind it is, but is there a list of types found in WDB as opposed to types common to food poisoning or is there cross over? Awaiting the fungal sinusitis appt. Will also have lungs scanned for hypersensitivity pneumonitis and/or scarring (was exposed to fine particulate of asbestos in 2007 over several hours time as we sawed into plaster with no mask--actonite, to be exact--this does not include the times we lived with plaster dust raining down on us from work being done to rebuild the collapsed 2nd floor).
