Guest guest
Hello all! Finally got my ozone generator, !!! Does anyone have any experience with ozone treatments? More specifically looking for treatment protocols for ear insufulation(spelled wrong i know) and any other protocol instructions. Thanks so much!! Guest guest
Elias, What brand? I hate to rain on your parade but you need to the know that the FDA last week siezed equipment used in medical treatments from AOS . Guest guest
Ozone will kill everything-I personally would not use it on or in the presence of any living thing. It is safe to use for objects, in a box, or wrapped in a plastic bag, outside. I know there are people who use them, I think it is very dangerouse-a modern quack machine. > > Hello all! Guest guest
Ozone is best left to be used in water purification, which has been proven effective, and where as, high levels of ozone is dispersed without affecting human life. Abraham Facts about ozone and generators by CoBiP 1. In 2000, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) successfully sued a major manufacturer of ozone generators for making unsupported health claims for health benefits and air cleaning effectiveness. The manufacturer had claimed that their ozone generators could remove various indoor air pollutants and prevent or relieve allergies, asthma and other health conditions 2. Ozone is a harmful air pollutant that is the main ingredient of ground-level smog. 3. There are no Electronic Precipitators that produce safe levels of Ozone. All produce harmful ozone concentrations. 4. Because ozone is measured in concentrations, placing ozone originators at a distance does not prevent the poisonous effect that it has on people. 5. Electronic air cleaners. There are three general types of electronic air cleaning technologies: ozone generators, electrostatic precipitators, and ionizers. 6. Ionizers produce ozone as a by-product of the ion-generating technology they use. 7. Ozone must be produced in dangerous concentrations for it to be effective in destroying biological contaminants. The EPA & ASHRAE limit for safe ozone levels is 0.05 ppm see www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/ozonegen.html, however this does not weaken the outcome that it has on people. 8. Ozone at safe levels does not clean the air (EPA). 9. Ozone is used effectively in water to destroy microbes, but ozone in air must reach extremely hazardous levels (50-100 times the outdoor air quality standards) to effectively kill microbes. 10. There is no new technology that is called UVX 11. Ozone generators produce ozone by design, they use a small electrical charge to collect particles from air pulled through the device. Ionizers, or negative ion generators, cause particles to stick to materials near the ionizer (such as the carpet and walls). 12. Photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) with ultraviolet light, they produce significant amounts of ozone that result in unhealthful indoor air quality and a pungent odor and to minimize ozone emissions, these devices need to be cleaned and maintained regularly. 13. Breathing ozone can be harmful, especially for children, the elderly, and people with asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, or other respiratory diseases. 14. Ozone irritates the eyes, nose, and throat, and may trigger asthma attacks in those with asthma. 15. Long-term exposure to ozone may permanently reduce a person's breathing ability. 16. Research studies show that use of an ozone generator can produce harmful levels of ozone in a home – over three times the State outdoors air quality standard of 90 parts per billion. 17. Independent studies by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Consumers Union, show electronic precipitators do not effectively destroy microbes, remove odor sources, or reduce indoor pollutants enough to provide any health benefits. 18. Ozone masks the odor of other indoor pollutants by deadening the sense of smell. 19. It also reacts with certain indoor pollutants to produce toxic byproducts, such as formaldehyde. To envision the benefits of ultraviolet technology if necessary, we believe that it could be helpful for your key decision makers, if we were to bring from Canada our PHD in Biophysics. Nevertheless we would rather have some kind of pledge before we may do this. We can also arrange a conference call. References: Federal Trade Commission updated July 12, 2002. Guest guest
and KC, Excellent evidence-based response on ozone. I knew you had the info KC but am very pleased with what you posted, . Guest guest
Is there a way to treat the lungs once they have been exposed to ozone? Anne
Guest guest
The only thing that has been showed to heal the lungs is neubulized glutithion, whether it would work with ozone damage is a guess > > Is there a way to treat the lungs once they have been exposed to ozone? > > Anne >
Guest guest
Interesting, I didn't know that the nebulized glutathione helped heal the lungs, thought that nebulizing it was just a way to get it into the entire body as I believe it doesn't absorb well via the oral route. Glad to know this as my kid is nebulizing and he also has lung problems in the small airways...no ozone damage--mold, allergies... So far see no improvement in the lungs with the glutathione or the asthma meds, but maybe it takes a long time?? Guest guest
HI PH, I did both...I started off going to an ozone clinic here in Vegas, and then realized that I could buy my own equipment as an investment and do my own therapy at home. I bought a cold plasma ozone generator from Saul Pressman in Canada. I still have the equipment, including the oxygen tank, but haven't used it in quite awhile. I used to do ear insufflations, vaginal insufflations, rectal insufflations and made ozonated water to drink. Are you thinking of doing some ozone therapy too? If so, what made you decide?
