Guest guest
Has anyone used a neti pot to cleanse their sinuses? Does it have any real advantages or is it a waste of money? Thanks
Guest guest
I don't use the neti pot. A few years ago a co-worker told me he and his wife tried the neti pot but did not like it, so the bought the Neil Med plastic bottle. I bought the bottle and have been using it about 3 yrs, so easy to use.  Co-worker does his sinus rinse in the shower, I just bend over the tub, taking a handkerchief with me, and that works out good for me. The Neil Med sinus packets are the only brand I use-- no burning.   The contents are: sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. You mix warm distilled water with the packet in the plastic bottle. I warm the water in the microwave.  The co-worker, his wife, and I all noticed that we don't get sick as often-- do the sinus rinse when we notice the sinuses are affected by the weather, stuff, etc. ......Corky  Has anyone used a neti pot to cleanse their sinuses? Does it have any real advantages or is it a waste of money? Thanks
Guest guest
I don't know what a neti pot is but I use a sinus rinse kit that I bought at WalMarts. It consist of a plastic bottle and pouches of salt and baking soda mixed together. Since those are gone I now mix 1/2 sea salt and 1/2 baking soda and use about 1/2 tsp per bottle. It does wonders to rinse out your sinses.
