Guest guest
Before buying LED's, I believe that they create high levels of " dirty electricity " as do CFLs. I read this in Sam Milham's new book Dirty Electricity. My new place is full of halogen and CFL lighting, which I originally objected to because of the mercury and risk of breaking the lightbulbs and creating a mercury toxic zone. But they also create lots of dirty electricity emfs........I believe the LED bulbs do too...... These kind of emfs cause cancer......... According to one of the people involved with EMF Saftey Network, who came to my rental and measured various kinds of emfs, a lot of the new green energy saving appliances emit high levels of emfs... I keep all the CFL lighting turned off and use my own incandescent bulb lamps instead. The architect/builder/owner is passionate about sustainability, but this doesn't mean sustainability of people, they are interested in LEEDS certification which has been discussed here before, doesn't mean safe or nontoxic for people. Also, I have a very fancy new oven in this place, it can be regular oven, convection oven, dehydrator...but the way you operate it is via a large LED touch screen right at abdominal level, and this LED screen emits an extremely high emf field that extends a few feet, a woman spending many hours a day in this area is at great risk of getting some kind of cancer in the abdominal area. So, I have turned it off at the circuit breaker and only turn it on to bake and then stay the heck away from it, very poor design, the designers are clueless, and very inconvenient, I will probably buy a toaster oven to use instead and leave this thing turned off permanently. Good luck, sue v. > >a better option than CFL's, if can't buy old incandescent > >They offer both SAFETY > >and reduced lifetime costs for electricity consumed and >
Guest guest
Sue, I'll to read Sam Milham's new book I didn't know LED's & LED touch controls emit more emf's. I'll stick with my incandescent bulbs until they stop selling them. Do you use a wind up alarm clock? Thanks so much, Kathy From: sue <svican@...> Subject: Re: [] Safer lighting Before buying LED's, I believe that they create high levels of " dirty electricity " as do CFLs. Guest guest
I've been using color therapy with great results & I trust the opinion of Darius Dinshah. At the bottom of the page is his opinion on various lights. http://www.dinshahhealth.org/

Guest guest
Sue: (an others) LLBean sells a wind-up alarm clock. I think they call it a " vintage clock " or something like that. I believe it was also metal, not plastic.
