Guest guest
I'll add that I was told to leave them out for four hours, and once an hour simply walk through the room and back out, to stir up whatever is in the carpet. MA ------------ Also those cheap little mold test kits you get from Home Depot or Lowe's are remarkably effective for a fast test. It won't give you details on what kind of mold is there or where the mold is exactly, but it will pick the mold spores out of the air for you and they WILL bloom on the petri dish. I have used it alot and safe rooms do not show any mold, while moldy rooms produce a horror of weirdly colored mold spores on the dish. It takes a few minutes of exposure then you cover the dish and let it develop. You can take the dish home-it develops anywhere! In a few days you'll know if anything is flying around the rooms. I have used it successfully after remediation to find that the dish was clear. It's just a little extra something for me.
Guest guest
If it's the ProLab it's an hour but if your area is pretty clean, you can leave it out longer but you should mark on report, if you send it for interpretation how long you left it out. If area is not clean many hours will be too much so that mold would be growing on top of mold, I think too hard for test results to be accurate. I asked to do a mold dish before accepting an apartment, let me put one in there. I left it for only half hour and then doubled the results..in my head, bec couldn't stick around for an hour. I guess if someone would let you, you could put one hour, run an errand and come back and get it, assuming this is topic about finding an apartment or some place to live..can't tell from the subject " digest number " . > > I'll add that I was told to leave them out for four hours, and once an > hour simply walk through the room and back out, to stir up whatever is > in the carpet. > MA >
Guest guest
Barb, I know you mean well, but please see the many many posts over many years from Carl, Dr. Thrasher, me, and several others that addres mold sampling issues. To summarize for you and others: The settling plate is rarely useful. Especially if used one at at time. Period. That's why the professionals do NOT use them. They are a very old method that was invalidated by many people over many years of use and misuse. I am concerned that you are going to create undue confidence in others that this is " the way to do it " . It is not. Sincerely, > > If it's the ProLab it's an hour but if your area is pretty clean, you can leave it out longer but you should mark on report, if you send it for interpretation how long you left it out.
