Guest guest
Dear All, Sometimes this issue takes many twists and turns and it's easy to lose sight of what is most important. KC posted the below ABC News reel on Sickbuildings yesterday. This video illustrates why it is important we stay on ACOEM, ACMT, AOEC, EPA, CDC, ATSDR, NIOSH & OSHA and our elected officials like white on rice; to assure our federal tax dollars are being used wisely to educate the pediatricians of the PEHSU's as to the seriousness of physical harm that can happen to children in water damaged housing and schools -and to workers of the US. If the private sector physician is properly educated to diagnose illness from water damaged buildings, it makes it much more difficult for organizations such as HUD, etc, to turn a blind eye in dereliction of duty. ABC News Video: _Mother Says Housing Authority Ignored Warnings._ (http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/video/mother-housing-authority-warning-12770546) Also, I am always amazed at what they don't seem to know in DC...until the media brings it to their attention. " _Lawmakers like Sen. Grassley, R-Iowa, wonder how such problems could go undetected for years by HUD. " _ (http://www.publicintegrity.org/articles/entry/2865/) It seems to me that Senator Grassley's question is self explanatory. Again, if so inclined, an easy way to send a message to your personal legislators (so they don't have to wait for rolling cameras before they hear about this issue and help change it) is: 1. Go to this link: _http://www.congress.org/congressorg/officials/congress/?district=50 & lvl=C & a zip=92029 & state=CA_ (http://www.congress.org/congressorg/officials/congress/?district=50 & lvl=C & azip=\ 92029 & state=CA) 2. Put in your Zip Code 3. Click on the Pictures of Your Representatives, this will bring up their contact info. Click on it. 4. Cut and Paste the below message into an email and hit Send. You may need to log in, but it is free to do so. ***************************************** " Honorable XXXXX , As a citizen of the United States, I am requesting transparency and oversight of what US physicians are being taught of the illnesses caused by water damaged buildings through the use of federal funds going to private sector medical associations and for the purpose of educating America's occupational practitioners, pediatricians and other physicians. Please demand on my behalf and for the sake of public health and safety, that the EPA, CDC ATSDR and CDC NIOSH place the federally funded materials that are being used to educate America's physicians via AOEC, ACMT and PEHSU, on their web sites for public view and comment. To read detailed reports of why transparency and oversight are necessary to save the lives of thousands of citizens, please go to Katy's Exposure Blog: _http://katysexposure.wordpress.com/2011/01/23/oh-boy-acoem-seems-to-be-at-i t-again-wonder-if-the-us-chamber-and-the-manhattan-institute-think-tank-is-g oing-to-pay-their-revisers-of-their-mold-illness-policy-to-write-a-lay-trans lation-for-ju/_ (http://katysexposure.wordpress.com/2011/01/23/oh-boy-acoem-seems-to-be-at-it-ag\ ain-wonder-if-the-us-chamber-and-the-manhattan-institute -think-tank-is-going-to-pay-their-revisers-of-their-mold-illness-policy-to-w rite-a-lay-translation-for-ju/) Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. Sincerely, XXXXXX " ******************************************* Teaching the doctors is the key to solving the problem for the public good from many aspects to curtail the deliberate indifference . (Of course, one could always compose their own message.) Thank all of you again for your help. We are getting there to assure that there is transparency and accuracy in science, medicine and policy over this issue! Sharon
