Hello,

is 6 years old. He only eats pureed foods, and we can mix

rice crispies in it. He is still in a diaper. He has just started

feeding himself after our HBOT therapy in June. He takes the spoon

from my hand after I scoop the food and then lays it back into the

tray.

My problem is that he is pinching and pulling hair when things don't

go his way. Like, he has veggies and meat for a meal and he wants

fruit and yogurt. He also is bad when I am dressing him, or if

someone else is talking to me. He pinched some poor girl that had my

attention and I had to pry his hand off of her. My arms are filled

with small scars were he has torn off the flesh. Sigh. He is a

sweetie pie 80% of the time but the other 20% he is a demon spawn. I

get nasty notes from school and really need to pick your brains.

I have seen a clinical psychologist. We did 'hands down' 'soft

hands', 25 times in a row with him. After the 25th time, I was

crazy, but he touched me softly and said 'soft'. Then of course a

few weeks later we lost it. Nick had epilepsy for 15 months and was

on such horrible medications that I am very nervous about putting him

on anything. If anyone one has any good info I would love to hear it.

Thanks in advance.

Dianna: #1-Is Nick Verbal?

Tori acts out too because, although she is verbal, she has Non-Verbal Learning

Disability where she-at times-cannot find the words she needs to express

herself. This is extremely frustrating for all of us. I, too, have had/and

still get them- several scratch marks and bruised limbs. She is still in

pull-ups and is entering 1st grade. She shows alot of aggressive behaviors as

well when she wants attention. She, too, has hit/scratched/pinched/kicked some

kids in her classroom as well. Two peas in a pod, like alot of our kids are-I

would say. We use Time-Out (when it works it is great) and I also threaten to

take something away...for instance, if she asks for something specific-I will

tell her to behave or no whatever she asked for. Don't think this is going to

be much help..but wanted to let you know you are not alone!
