Guest guest
I totally agree. I saw many students with symptoms in my school and told as many parents that would listen. Many left and some stayed. The school never shared the 3 inspection reports with faculty staff or parents. They just told them that it was a little mold that would be cleaned up and that the health of all the students was of the utmost importance. I left as soon as I found out, however others remained and got much worse. School is still open, and I am sure that many children will be sick years from now. No one can force them to close or clean up properly so when they had parishioners & parents remove the carpet and wood work & tiles they most likely made the situation much worse. I have followed these posts. I know you are ill, but what about the children in the school? In California the school districts are self-insured and therefore routinely deny and hide the problems associated with poor indoor air quality, particularly water-intrusion. You are in your fifties and ready to retire. What is going to happen to the younger students? Some of them may never enter the job market because of ill health. We all need to stand up and fight for the health of students. They are at higher risk than adults. I have seen estimates that between 30 to 40 of the schools in the U.S. have water intrusion problems.

Guest guest
A wrongful injury law suit against the school is the only answer. However, the conditions of the school must be well documented and the parents must be willing to fight the issue. Re: Spam[9] [] Teacher Suffering I totally agree. Guest guest
You're correct and the conditions of the school were horrible. Some parents were willing to fight but were threatened so they backed off. Since it was a private school many removed their children but many remained because the priest and principal told them all was well and it would all be taken care of . Now 7 yrs. later most don't even know of the problem so they continue on. However, enrollment has dropped to the point that it many not be able to reopen next yr. Same thing happened years ago and a dedicated parishioner always donates money to keep them going. I believe that if the inspection reports & my confirmed illness had been made public more parents/teachers would have forced them to take action. Unfortunately, I feel certain, many will be sorry they didn't do more. A wrongful injury law suit against the school is the only answer. However, the conditions of the school must be well documented and the parents must be willing to fight the issue.
Guest guest
Dr. Thrasher, I agree with you and it is a shame what went on at this school. They, the priest & principal, ignored the inspection reports, myself, my husband, other parents and even my Dr. who by the way wrote them a letter stating that my illness was solely due to the toxic contaminates in their building. I was even a member of the church for 14 yrs. and they NEVER even sent me a get well card but they continued to send me the monthly collection envelopes for 4 yrs.!!!!! Since the church is a business it was all about the MONEY!! SSR What a shame. It always amazes me how people can be threatened and frightened off. There is no authority in this world and/or universe greater than God. We are all children of God, including the so called powers to be (priests, pope, ministers, elected officials, judges). In addition, we are sovereigns with the rights given to us by God. Therefore, look them straight in the eye and ask the offending party what gives then the right to deny our God given sovereignty.
