Guest guest
hi all just gleaned the following from an article and thought id shate as i had no idea citric acid would be a problem. Im sure supplements ive had in the past would have contained it: Citric acid is perhaps the greatest misnomer in the ingredients listing of any food. It is added to most processed foods including soft drinks, jams and jellies, frozen meals, etc. as a preservative. It conjures up visions of lemons, oranges and limes. It is none of these; it is a direct product of Aspergillus fermentation in commercial quantities. It is a highly impure " citric acid " contaminated by many other Aspergillus products including toxins, antibiotics, etc. One wonders if pure citric acid would confer the same excellent preservative properties as commercial " citric acid " on foods? Again, this is an excellent product for the food industry in extending the shelf life of foods, but it adds fungal elements to the food. also pysllium may be mold contaminated, perhaps that is why some. Are 'allergic' to it. finally avoid supps with any grains eg rice husks or corn which may contain molds. Im planning on getting vit c, which is often corn based, from allergy research group to be on safe side... Though havnt fully resaearched it yet. Anyone have any additional info and experience with mold free supps?
Guest guest
Perque vitamins have vitamin C which is corn-free and alot of other allergen-free products. It is hard to get as it is usually sold by a doctor or healthcare practitioner. I think some compounding pharmacies carry them. Also alot of other " doctor type " supplements can be checked out and bought for a somewhat cheaper price at www.needs.com. Some good brands are metabolic maintenance, vital nutrients, thorne, pure and integrative therapeutics. I don't know the specifics of each supplement, but some of the supplements my doc has me on are from these companies and have been checked out for my issues. But please do check the ingredients for yourself.Sam _______________________>Posted by: " khandalah " candalah@... khandalah>Mon Nov 1, 2010 5:51 am (PDT)> Anyone have any additional info and experience with mold free supps?
