Guest guest
Also, I am thinking that the vacuum use a bag, rather than bagless, right? > > Can anyone recommend a really good HEPA vacuum? > > Thanks! >
Guest guest
I think Miele is the best. Look at reviews at allergy buyers club. it has a self sealed system and excellent bag as well as removed most all particles from the air.. or possibly its does not release back particles into the air.. expensive. The sebo is pretty good as well but it does not ahve a self sealing bag. Guest guest
Is the Miele very heavy? Can you take it up and down stairs easily? > > I think Miele is the best. Guest guest
Nilfisk is also very good, but more expensive. Lot's of remediators use them. BTW, some vacs like the Miele don't always have a HEPA filter. And I'm not sure HEPA is always needed because most vacs don't perform as well as the HEPA filter installed itside it. Several years ago there were vac bags with 1 micron pore size. Almost all my clients noted a significant improvement and couldn't tell the difference between HEPA at 0.3 and the 1.0 bag. Guest guest
I love my Miele! It's very lightweight compared to my old upright vac and the way the heads swivel it's a breeze to get under furniture, around chair legs, etc. I think it's easy on stairs--you can either set it standing upright on a step or carry it since it's not very heavy. Make sure you get a model that will accept the HEPA filter in place of the regular filter and you may need to buy the HEPA filter separately. They're expensive but it's great to work with a machine that's engineered so well. Only downside of my Antares is the bag is on the smaller side, so it does need to be replaced fairly regularly. I think there are more expensive Mieles with bigger bags, but I'm not sure if those machines are heavier. I ended up buying mine from a local shop and I'm glad I did--the guy there did not recommend the single head that is supposed to work for both carpet and hard surfaces. I do have to switch heads manually but it's not a problem for me, since we have hard flooring and just a few area rugs that I do at the end. I also have a Ridgid shop vac with an add-on HEPA filter that I like for dirtier jobs like the laundry room, car or garage. It's from Home Depot. Guest guest
i have a sebo which is similar to a miele. mine is a smaller model and its farily easy to carry. its a canister and I will only do canisters at this point. I am not taking the sebo with us so ti stays here to do clean up. i will most likely get a miele because they claim little if any particualte emissions and a closed hepa system. It may be a silly move, but I am investing in the vac, air purifiers and decent mattresses. I am hoping after we relocate that even if there is cross contamination which there will be that we can keep the vacc clean enough to move again with us. which I know sounds ludicrous.
