Guest guest
I don't. I just wall them up (roots and all) and throw them in the garbage. No one composts around here and my landlord would have no use for them. They are no longer growing any fruits or veggies in the back yard. So I just discard them. Chia and Flax and anything else I grow as a microgreen does VERY WELL in these mats. No more mess, no more soaking in buckets (like I did with the Coir). Guest guest
No, this is the item I purchased. (And I wish they showed the mats and not the wheatgrass, lol) http://www.sprouthouse.com/Sure_To_Grow_p/biostg.htm I purchased 6 of them. I can cut them to fit my smaller trays and the 10 x 20 will fit my big tray that I grow sunnies in. I was thinking of getting that roll thing but it's 20 bucks and there's shipping and during the hotter months I sprout more than I microgreen. But I WILL microgreen my sunnies, pea shoots and chia and flax. I'm doing a soil less medium now. I've got sunnies growing and pea shoots growing in nothing but trays with holes. They have taken root already. I wish the sun was shining today. But tomorrow (hopefully), they will start shooting up. Melody > > Melody..is the link below the one you use.. Guest guest
Hi Melody, This sounds great, I have seen this on US websites only. Does anyone have a Canadian website that sells this Sure to Grow Mats? The shipping charge if I even buy 1 piece (cost is $1.50) will be $ 23.75. After waiting for a while, Mumm's Sprouting finally have Baby Blanket, but they only sell them at 10 feet size (X 39 inches) and it costs $28.50. Like most of you, I was going to experiment and compare Sure to Grow mats and baby blankets. I surely like to be able to buy Sure to Grow mats. If you know of a way to help get it, I would appreciate it. > > > > Melody..is the link below the one you use.. Guest guest
Hi. I found a Canadian Hydroponic Website for you. I poked around, couldn't find any STG mats (but I'll keep trying). For a start, (and you've probably heard about this one but go and poke around like I did). http://www.canadianwholesalehydroponics.com/products.cfm?cat_id=31 & show_products\ =1 & catpage=1 Melody > > > > > > Melody..is the link below the one you use.. Guest guest
Cecilia: I also found a website by a company in Canada called Vesey. I have used their online contact form and explained what you are trying to buy. I asked them if they offer the Sure to Grow Mats, and if not, did they know of a Canadian Website that might offer them. Hey it can't hurt to try, right? Where in Canada do you live. Maybe I can find a place that is not too far from your location (an organic gardening store, or something similar) and I'll let you know. That's how I found a gardening store near me. So as soon as this Vesey gets back to me with any info, I'll pass it on. Take care, Melody > > > > > > Melody..is the link below the one you use.. Guest guest
Cecilia, Check your local 'Yellow Pages' to see if there is a hydroponics supply store near where you live. They might have what you need. STG mats were developed for the hydroponic growers. ew Just purchased some Sure To Grow Mats > > > > > > > > I never heard from mshydro.com anymore. Guest guest
No, EW explained this to me. The roots are all tangled up and if you turn it over, no roots can grow because the other roots have done this. So you use a Sure To Grow Mat one time. Guest guest
I just might go with the roll the next time I order. I think it's twenty bucks. Melody > > I saw that Sproutpeople had 10 " x 20 " mats for $1.20 I think it was or $1.50. They had a roll for quite a bit more, was too much for me to try it out, but you have used them and you might find that moe economical depending on your size boxes. >  > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > >  > > > To: sproutpeople > Sent: Friday, May 4, 2012 10:51 PM > Subject: Just purchased some Sure To Grow Mats > > >  > I never heard from mshydro.com anymore. Guest guest
Cecilia: I just heard back from Veseys. I had inquired if they sold the Sure To Grow Mats or if they knew anyone in Canada who sold them. This is what they emailed me: Hi Melody; Thank you for contacting Veseys. Sorry, we do not carry those products. I was not able to locate a Canadian supplier for them either - just US suppliers. Have you checked with any US suppliers to see if they will ship to Canada? If there is anything else I can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact me. Happy Gardening! Gallant Customer Service Representative Hey, we gave it a shot. Sorry I could not help you. Take care, Melody
