Guest guest
Broccoli is, of course, the healthiest. For me fenugreek is healthy because I'm diabetic and fenugreek help stabilize my blood sugar. But in reality, all sprouts are good for you in so many ways. ew Sprout Variety/nutrients As I am really getting into sprouting I've been doing alot of thinking,(If you been smelling smoke lately its my brain not the wild fired as to its not used to thinking this hard), is there a reason why there isnt more variety in sprouts, I mean being as they are supposed to be so healthy for ya and have 1-10 x the amount of nutrients then the full grown veggie. Ive been looking at organic seeds for Veggies and wondering is there a reason why people dont sprout them. Ew explained why about the tomatoes/nightshade family and as well as the squashes and melons. However if I was thinking with the squashes and melons if you make them into patties like Melony does with her sunnies and corn would that make them edible? curious as to your alls trials and errors with sprouting other seeds. Also I know that Broccoli seed is very healthy, but what are the healthiest sprouts for you? Thanks
Guest guest
Thanks again Ew! I just had a HUGE salad made of a lil bit of iceberg lettuce and tons of alfalfa, broccoli, radish, fenugreek, and salad mix sprouts with a touch of cucumber, tomato and cauliflower and some raspberry walnut vinaigrette Yummy! Can eating this many sprouts cause some kind of detoxing? My Hubby has noticed he is itching all over since we started eating the sprouts. Being in Wyoming where it is WINDY and dry, it could be just dry skin, but thought I would ask. Guest guest
I have not heard of sprouts causing any kind of itching. Lets call int the dry weather, but to do a test, eat a whole lot of one kind of sprout for a day and not any other kind. Do this for several day depending on how many different sprout you're sprouting. If you have a problen with one, you'll soon know. ew Re: Sprout Variety/nutrients Thanks again Ew! Guest guest
Sprouts can indeed cause itching, if the consumer has an intolerance or allergy to them. I am very reactive to many types of sprouts. ANY food can cause a reaction, from mild itching to full on anaphalaxis. I react to my sunflower sprouts if I eat them too often, so I am judicious in how often I do. > > I have not heard of sprouts causing any kind of itching.
