Guest guest
Dennis, When you should harvest is pretty much up to your own tastes. Everybody like them differently. I grow sprout in SproutEasy cups on the kitchen sink. After about day four, my wife will be pulling off sprouts to put on sandwiches. I generally leave them for a week before I harvest, but they taste great no matter when they are taken. To find out how long sprout people lets their seed grow, go to www.sproutpeople.org and type in the seed that you are interested and that page will come up with the info, but as I said not every body does it the same. I sprout dry beans for only four days, before I put them into soup or chili. I like lentils after five days in my salad, and so forth. Then again, it also depends on what kind of a sprouter you are using. I have a FreshLife, which is and automatic machine. I get full sized sunnies in four days from it. If I grow sunnies in the kitchen window in soil, its 7 - 10 days before I will pick them. So you see there is no real answer to you question. But remember the sprouter's mantra: Experiment. ew Seed Sprouting and Harvesting Time Table Chart Does anyone know where I can find a chart or online document that shows how long it takes to sprout a particular seed? Also, is there a chart or document that instructs when a particular sprout should be harvested? I would like to plan my sprouting so that I can harvest my sprouts around the same time. Thanks Everyone, Dennis
Guest guest
I'll take your suggestion about Sproutpeople.. I never thought about that. Well, I'm kind of a mad scientist, so Experiment I will. Thanks Ernest...Take care, Dennis > > Dennis, > When you should harvest is pretty much up to your own tastes. Everybody like them differently. I grow sprout in SproutEasy cups on the kitchen sink. Guest guest
Hi I sent you the chart I use to your email address listed on the forum. Other charts might differ some. If you want to post it, feel free. Anyone can make corrections. Happily sprouting, Diane > > Does anyone know where I can find a chart or online document that shows how long it takes to sprout a particular seed? > > Also, is there a chart or document that instructs when a particular sprout should be harvested? > > I would like to plan my sprouting so that I can harvest my sprouts around the same time. > > Thanks Everyone, > Dennis >
Guest guest
Hi Melody... I've watched some of you videos in the past here, but when I click on the link in this post, I get a Sorry Private message on the screen... Not sure why. I'm familiar with that type of sprouter. I've recently composed a message about my Sproutman/Tribest Wheatgrass sprouter and that is what I am using now. It's excellent and if you get a chance check out that posting. Thanks and take care, Dennis > > Hi Dennis. > > My name is Melody and I'm a sprouter too!! I take videos of my sprouting adventures. Here is a link to a video I made last summer (I have no air conditioning) so I built a cooling system. I wanted to show you what sprouting using the Sproutgarden looks like. The trays stack on each each other. Remove the covers, spread them out, put them in indirect lighting and there you go. I have lots of videos. All different methods of sprouting. Been doing this for years now. > > Here is one of my videos. You can link to all my others from this one video. > > > > Melody > r
