Guest guest
Hi Margaret, Georgina, My daughter's head gets hot too. In fact, she has been having seizures about once a month since last summer, some generalised and some partial, and I have noticed that they seem to occur when she gets too hot, as in wearing too many layers of clothing or exercising outside on a warm day. She even had one when we were getting ready to leave on a vacation and she put on a woollen beret at home. I make sure that her head is never covered unless we are in the snow and it is below freezing. She has been taking acupuncture treatments and chinese herbs for about a year now, and the chinese doctor's advise is to give her a lot of exercise. He is also treating her liver and supporting her kidneys and adrenals. He also always wants her lower body kept warm and covered. The other thing that we did to cool the body while growing up was to massage lots of coconut oil into our scalp, I mean tons of it until your head is sopping wet with oil. Let it soak in for anywhere between 10 minutes to half an hour and then a long, hot shower and shampoo off. The longer you let it soak before showering off, the cooler your head and body will get, so watch and don't overdo it especially in winter. You will catch a cold if it is too much.
