Guest guest
I thought almost everyone knew about Harry Potter books, written by Ann Rawlings. They are well written and appeal to all ages. My granddaughter who is 8 is trying to read one that is about 3 " thick. Her sistes who are now adults have read them and still read them. My daughter has read them, as have I. My husband read the early ones but then when they got a bit darker he didn't read them. My daughter is aware andmight not have her daughter read some of the later ones, though she is reading them with her as part of her reading program. She does understnd what she is reading. She is a bright bulb. My son's family all read Harry Potter, too. It is a book where the good guys win, but the stuggle is difficult. Some don't read them because it is about wizardy but that is a pretend thing to me and not real but the struggle between good and evil is. The kids root for the good guys. A few people who haven't read them may not choose to because it is about wizards and witches, though there are good and bad ones. It is funny, intense and has pretty good lessons. I just thought that most everyone knew about HP which was played by Radcliffe. I liked Weasley though as he was hilarious and yet eally brave as he wasn't that good at wizardy and he still put his life on the line for good. Hermoine came from a muggle (non-wizard) family and was really smart and excellent scholar. So she is a role-model for smart girls. Now back to sprouts & gardens. I haven't gotten started back yet. Got some little flying things in the house from keeping some scraps in a can instead of putting in the garden every day. Now have to figure out how to get rid of them. Any ideas? they don't bother my husband but they fly around my light and around me driving me crazy. Took the can outside and will put in the garden to start a compost pile soon. Have some shredded papers (small pieces of shredded paper ) and will put that in with it and cover with dirt. Read that watermelon and cantelope love to be planted in compost pile. Guest guest
Carolyn, do what I do, and build some gnat catchers. Get a small mason jar, put some apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. then make a funnel and tape it to the mason jar. The gnats will be attacted by the smell, they will fly INTO the jar, but they can't get out because gnats are attracted to the light and they are so stupid they will crawl on the inside wall of the jar thinking they can get out. They will eventually fall into the liquid and then you shall NO MORE GNATS!! lol Melody > > He is the nemesis... > > > >
Guest guest
Well at least I know about flying things. I bought some lovely pineapple oil and was going to use it as perfume until a dab behind each ear attracted some fruit flies. ;D LOL Ann On Jul 1, 2012 8:50 PM, " Carolyn Wilkerson " wrote: > ** > > > I thought almost everyone knew about Harry Potter books, written by Ann > Rawlings. Guest guest
I won't try that, for sure. I did wash hair with coconut shampoo but that was supposed to keep bugs away i thought. But then I put a tiny bit of mousse in my hair (it is really fine and needed something to make it a bit more manageable. I am not sure that makes a difference but bugs like to bite me. I think it is sugar as I am diabetic. yet seemslike even if sugar is down they bother me. Mosquitoes bite me, evidently gnats bite me and spiders bite me. They leave welts. I haven't had them in a while but saw a spider in here the other day. Prob ably coming for the gnats. I do not like bugs of any kind.
