Dept. of Managed Healthcare to try and get Blue SHield to pay phone consults for my sick kid. The Dept. of Managed Healthcare found my complaint valid and ordered Blue Shield to reimburse these claims. Blue Shield refused and the Dept. closed my case, is referring to their enforcement division who may or not do anything about it. Even though this dept. regulates the insurance cos., this is all they can do...another very broken aspect of our healthcare system that won't be fixed under the new system. I would like to get a short consult w/a healthcare attorney in CA to see if there is anything else I can do about this, or just drop it. Any referrals appreciated. thanks, sue v.
