Guest guest
Melody, some of yours look like they have a frond type leaf straight up but another of yours in the green circular sprouters looked like they had 2 leaves at the top. That was sort of what was peeking out of a roll up I saw. I got some tortillas to do some wraps. lI should start sprouting again. I think I could still do it here as inside it is cool.  I just read on someone else's you tube comment that the sunnies go first and last only about a week. The pea sprouts last 3 weeks they said.  Others have varying lives. Didn't talk of them as microgreens though but more as sprouts. I know I tried some bean sprouts with eating the leaf part and it wasn't too good after a few days and so I figured it is better as a sprout than as a green plant or microgreen.    I have been concentrating on my aerogardens. Some of the leaves on lettuce get a bitter taste if they are too big too. Not bad but not as nice. My SIL commented on that as he LOVES salads but his first leaves off the AG were bitter to him. Could have been mustard greens or something like that too. I was fairly pleased with mine but I did like them with some sturdier lettuces from the store and it was a nice addition. They seem tender and very soft. I figure that is because they don't have bad weather on them to toughen them up. I have discovered some nice things in the herbs. There are lemon basil and a mint basil which both smell so good and taste fine, too. The basils did great but other herbs didn't do so well. I did get some oregano and some mint but not so much. I am drying some basil now and have some to hang up until my dehydrator comes in. Thought of drying in the oven. Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Wednesday, August 1, 2012 8:40 PM Subject: Re: popcorn sprouts?  Hi. Guest guest
Donna, You can get them from Sprout People. I buy mine from the bulk bin in my local Sprouts Farmer's Market. You might try Whole Foods. Some popcorn in the stores that people buy to pop, may have additives. Read lables. ew Re: Re: popcorn sprouts? Where do you get your popcorn for sprouting? Guest guest
Please be mindful when buying any corn (for sprouting or any other use). Like soy, corn is at the top of the GMO list! If you don't want to be eating frankensprouts, make certain you are buying organic corn.
