My friend that is building a system plans to grow veggies on the top bed of his setup. If I did it, it would be much smaller scale. What are your thoughts on a 300 gallon aquarium? Need a floting bed on top of some kind, or workable on its own? > > > If you do some googling of barrelponics you will find lots more amazing information. You will find it is indeed very possible to grow nice fish in smaller units. This is probably closest to what I have going on, although what I do doesn't really mesh up with anything else. That's what makes it such an awesome set up though, you can mostly do whatever you want. There's a few rules that have to be followed, such as minimum temperature and oxygen, but system wise is probably limitless in what can be done. Aquaponics is another term to use, but will include some very large systems. I reckon the biggest key to success though is a 'system', not just a fish tank. The produce beds are huge in keeping the fish happy. > > > Bill Addington > dba Taste the Wild > > sand hollow id > >
