Guest guest
I get really sad when I read about cross-contamination.. It happens to everyone and is SO easy to do. It's so costly too. To give a brief profile, I experienced a traumatic event when I inhaled some concentrated floor cleaner at work two years ago. Ever since then, I am hypersensitive to something which originates at that office. I joined this group because whatever it is, acts just like a mycotoxin or neurotoxin - it gets on coworker's clothes, hair, cars - it's very transferable. But also, it could be neither, and maybe my brain irrationally reacts to being in the environment because of that traumatic event. Which leads me to my theory, and my desire to explore a new option for myself. My theory is that when I come in contact with it, my nerves go into overload mode, neurons fire, and my neurochemistry is unbalanced - the whole GABA/NMDA thing. I have been able to control this with Klonopin .5 mg 2x per day - I'm not a doctor and I'm not recommending this, but this seems to balance out my neurochemistry/neurotransmitters. This and dextromethorphan (benzodiazapines) are the only things that have ever worked for me - and advil I suppose too and I have done the Pall protocol (never tried CSM or LDN before though). My Md is fine giving me the Klonopin for the rest of my life. But I just keep wondering if there is a way to reprogram my brain to not have such an irrational response. I do have a cavum septum pellucidi with vergae on my MRI and you will note that only about 3% of the population has this.. Interestingly, ths is common with schizos and those with mental disabilities so I do feel as if I have some sort of pre-existing condition. My mother also has some sort of super anxiety/worry condition which she takes impriamine for. I believe the susceptibility for this is in my genes somehow. I want to know if anyone has tried behavioral feedback, or psychiatry to reprogram the brain. I'd like to meet with a psychiatrist in WI (or a psychologist) but I have no idea where to start looking for one with expertise so I thought I'd give it shot here. I'm happy with the progress I've made, but am still striving towards getting back to normal. This forum has been vital to my progress and has lead me on hundreds of internet journeys over the last couple years.. I keep telling my doctors to take 100 pieces of cotton out of a bag, bring one cotton ball to my office (to get the " stuff " on it) and test me to determine if I can figure out which one came from the office that sets of my neurons... I'll be able to do it with ease.. Has anyone's Md ever done that? But long post for an easy question - any psychs in Milwaukee area that have any experience in reprogramming the brain. Thanks for reading, Tom
