Guest guest
Melody, I have noticed that the sprout patty recipe you had in 2009 had change since then, what is it now? Thanks
Guest guest
They showed the round slices but said they preferred the spears. They suggested ranch dressing. I like honey mustard dressing on sweet potato " fries " which I cook in the oven instead of frying. Good with sweet sour sauce too. I have seen the wedges too, but the flat ones are quick and easy to fry. I haven't eaten fried foods in many years, but I used to devour them! Great dipped in mustard! > > I haven't tried them yet. They did the batter by dipping in a mixture of milk and egg with seasoning and then dipping in flour and back into the milk and egg and back into a mixture of the cornmeal and flour cornmeal. Then they cook in oil about med to med high. Has to cook so the inside cooks too.  They used the pickles cut in long wedges but I was thinking about doing the small dill pickles (baby ones) and then battering them and frying. I don't eat much fried but going to have to try that. And you patties too when I get something to grow them in. soon. >  > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > >

You can do them with homemade pickles, but you will need to use the water bath method of pickling in order to get them crisp enough to batter and fry, otherwise they will just splatter from too much water content, once you drop them in the oil. > > > > > > > > Melody, > > > > I have noticed that the sprout patty recipe you had in 2009 had change since then, what is it now?
