Guest guest
We've been busy as usual with doctor visits. The latest developments are that has a thyroid problem and he now wears hearing aids. I will find out about the thyroid treatments soon. The hearing aids are a challenge as they keep popping out of his ears, but we will be getting new inserts soon, so we will see how that goes. Guest guest
, What an awesome family! Good news all around. How wonderful to make Sara officially yours. -- Check in Day Hi, everyone. We are all doing well in upstate NY. and (almost 2 1/2 yrs.old DS) are both healthy and changing quickly. got braces for his lower legs a few months ago and he is growingstronger because of them. He is thrilled to be able to stand while holdingonto furniture. His feet have finally started to grow since he is bearingsome weight on them, and he can even bear weight on his feet w/o braces foralmost a full minute. HURRAY! We (and is doctors and therapists) have had some concerns because of hisextreme muscle weakness, but we have been very encouraged to see him slowlygaining some strength in his lower legs. Walking may be in his future afterall. Praise God!! is still trying to walk more than 5 or 6 steps at a time. Someweeks he is standing and trying to walk all the time, and some weeks wecan't even get him to stand while we are holding his hands. He's developingsome pretty strong temper tantrums, but I know that goes with the territorywhen they're old enough to want things their own way. LOL Usually he'scuddly and sweet. His OT wants to start doing "Astronaut Therapy" with him. Have any of yourkids used this program? She thinks it will help his balance enough so thathe will be able to stay on his feet.I have some great new to share...We are finally adopting our foster daughter Sara. We've had her in ourfamily since she was 3 weeks old, and her parents both signed judicialsurrenders recently. We are hoping to finalize her adoption before hersecond birthday this summer. God has certainly blessed us with all of these little ones. Our 14 year old daughter is always a great help with the little ones. Sheis home schooled, so she is a big part of the kids lives all day long...anda BIG help to Mommy!I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter.Blessings, D. in NY
