Subject: OT: distilled water

, yes, it will remove fluoride and anything else in the water.

Basically, it turns the water into steam and then condenses it back into

water. Everything not pure is left behind, as only the water molecules

become the steam. Water actually doesn't " like " to be pure, so it will pull

minerals and stuff out of whatever it is in .... which is why you do NOT

want to put it in metal. The ceramic water dispenser will be perfect. The

other thing about distilled water is both great and something to be careful

of: it will pull " stuff " out of your body. In the short term, that is

great, as the " stuff " it pulls are toxins, etc. Whenever I get sick, I

immediately switch to distilled water. But drinking only distilled water

for a long time can eventually start to pull out minerals and other " stuff "

that you need. It doesn't sound like you plan on drinking it exclusively,

only at the office, so it should be a really good thing for you. I've

frequently used it in my KT without any problems.

I'm trying to find the person who said they use Prill ( won't actually

let me log into my account and I may have already deleted the email) ... I

just ordered some online last night but I'd like to ask you some more

questions. Can you contact me? Thanks!

Blessings,

Charissa

Well I just purchased some Prill Beads off Ebay, two pounds. That was the

best buy I could find. Will they work? Don't know, but I'm always open to

experiments. Do I think they can work at restructuring water? No,

restructuring water takes much more that soaking beads in it. What is the

blue color they give off while soaking? Could it be radiation? Don't know

just asking, I will play with them when I get them. My thought is, they work

because people think they will. Now I leave the option to change my mind

open.

I know 2/3 of rock-all about them, but a swift Google yielded many refs,

See, your my kind of person.  Question it all...don't follow blindly! I'd like

to hear from someone that has tested water before and after and can tell us this

is the difference they made!  I am with you on the blue color!  As cautious as i

am about what I put in my body I'd certainly be questioning that one!

Hi Jim,

Just thought I would jump in here. I have been using Prill beads for

years and never saw a blue glow. Where is that mentioned?

I got mine from

http://www.life-enthusiast.com/twilight/prod_prill.htm

I don't pretend to be an expert or to advise others. I am simply

mentioning this as a product I use and have been pleased with the results.

I like the taste.

If anyopne in this group wants info I would suggest phoning the owner

of Life enthusiast and speak with . He will answer all your

questions. He answered mine.............

Several places while I was doing google searches refered to a blue glow

given off by the beads, if you are one of the people able to see it. Being

involved in the water business most of my life, when people start talking

water, I start asking questions. Not that there is anything wrong with Prill

Beads, I just wanted to know more. And I prefer to get my information from

someone not selling them. Many of the Prill sites I looked at were almost a

copy and paste of the information on the life-enthusiast site. My thoughts

are if Prill Beads did as they claim every water treatment plant in the

country would be using them. Regardless of what people think, water

treatment plants don't like to use all the chemicals to produce their water,

if it could be done another way they would.

Hello Fellow Brewer's.

Reading this I was reminded of the Blue Bloods who turned blue from

all the silver they ate off - drank from.. The colloidal silver

blue guy.

Anyway, I use distilled water for my Kombucha. A couple years ago

I purchased a Sears Kenmore distiller for like $80-. I add liquid

minerals at times to my drinking water but not my Kombucha water.

During the summer I put the newly distilled water in a glass jar and

put out in the sun for 24hrs. which makes it taste really wonderful..

(w/o liquid mins)

Now to my inquiry. There are old timer folks who put a silver

dollar in there water crock which is similiar to the colloidal

silver application/theory.

There is some wonderment how GT's brews - maybe in stainless vats ?

I started my original scoby from a GT's and it is The Best tasting

brew... I also have another scoby from a list member and the taste

doesn't compare to my GT's..which is really disappointing because

they are prepared the same way.. The scoby is just different.

So... I'm kind of wondering what the liquid minerals and/or the

silver in the water would do to the brew ? What metal

contact/content would create..

I know... give it a try and keep us posted right ?

O.k. will do.

Since I don't use the silver dollar in my water I won't be trying it

anytime soon... but I will..

I agree that Prill beads are not going to be the miracle the sellers want

you to believe. But for $6 (including shipping) I figured they were worth

experimenting with. Mine arrived in 2 days and I now have them soaking

overnight. Tomorrow I am having a house warming party ... and in addition

to a Kombucha tasting bar, I am planning on doing blind taste tests with the

Prill water, Brita water and tap water. We'll see how the results stack up.

Oh, and my beads are not glowing blue or any other color, for that matter.

Don't think I'd drink the water after if they did!

Has anyone done this, made their own distilled water to use. Reading the reviews

of one at Amazon.com, people say it uses a lot of electricity but after process

there is alot of 'gunk' left over..concerns me. Of course I should know that

would be true. It empties it into glass container which is nice but takes five

hours to make a gallon.

I guess one just puts trace minerals or a little sea salt it it afterwards to

replace minerals. Has anyone done this, and recommends it? I don't feel

confident of a source of water w all the chemicals everyone is pouring down the

drain anymore and medicines they take going into the water supply.
