Guest guest
Joe, Do you know off-hand if this includes drugs like spiriva and symbicort? They are not supposodly steroid drugs, but I don't see them in my research as LABA drugs either. Thanks,Sam The below FDA WARNING, is for those of us, like myself, who suffer from BOTH, a Toxic Mold Reaction, AND an Allergic/Asthmatic Mold Reaction. Guest guest
Because the Symbicort combines the LABA " Formoterol " , with the CORTICOSTEROID " Budesonide " , the FDA warning does NOT apply to Symbicort. The FDA warning does NOT apply to Spiriva, either. God Bless, Joe ....................................................................... Budesonide is a glucocorticoid steroid for the treatment of asthma, non-infectious rhinitis (including hay fever and other allergies), and for treatment and prevention of nasal polyposis. Additionally, it is used for Crohn's disease (inflammatory bowel disease). It is marketed by AstraZeneca as a nasal inhalant under the brand name Rhinocort (in Denmark, as Rhinosol), as an oral inhalant under the brand name Pulmicort (in Israel, Budicort), and as either an enema or a modified release oral capsule under the brand name Entocort. It is also sold in combination with formoterol (Oxis) in a single inhaler, under the brand name Symbicort. In Brazil it's marketed by Eurofarma under the brand name Noex. Entocort EC is an oral capsule marketed in the United States by Prometheus Laboratories. ........................................................ IMPORTANT SPIRIVA INFORMATION Talk to your doctor to see if Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) is right for you. SPIRIVA HandiHaler is a prescription medicine used once every day (a maintenance medicine) to control symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD includes chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both. SPIRIVA relaxes airways and helps keep them open, to help make it easier to breathe when used every day. SPIRIVA HandiHaler is not a rescue medicine and should not be used for treating sudden breathing problems. Do not swallow SPIRIVA capsules. Only use SPIRIVA capsules with the HandiHaler device. The contents of the capsule should only be inhaled by mouth using the HandiHaler device. Stop taking SPIRIVA and get medical help right away if your breathing suddenly worsens, your throat or tongue swells, you get hives, or have vision changes or eye pain. Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, problems passing urine or an enlarged prostate, as these may worsen with SPIRIVA. Also discuss with your doctor all the medicines you take, including eye drops. The most common side effect with SPIRIVA is dry mouth. Others include constipation and trouble passing urine. For a complete list of reported side effects, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Do not get SPIRIVA powder in your eyes. .................................................................................\ .............. Approved Uses for Asthma Prescription SYMBICORT is a controller medicine for the long-term maintenance treatment of asthma. SYMBICORT is for people 12 years and older whose doctor has decided are not well controlled on another asthma-controller medicine or who need two asthma-controller medicines. SYMBICORT is not for the treatment of sudden asthma symptoms. Important Safety Information about SYMBICORT for Asthma SYMBICORT contains formoterol, a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA). Medicines containing LABAs may increase the chance of asthma-related death. So, SYMBICORT should be used only if your health care professional decides another asthma-controller medicine alone does not control your asthma or you need two controller medicines. While taking SYMBICORT, never use another medicine containing a LABA. SYMBICORT won't replace rescue inhalers for sudden asthma symptoms. Do not use SYMBICORT more than twice a day. If you are taking SYMBICORT, see your health care professional if your asthma does not improve or gets worse. Some people may experience increased blood pressure, heart rate, or change in heart rhythm. Tell your doctor if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure. .................................................................................\ ........ Approved Uses for COPD SYMBICORT 160/4.5 is for adults with COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. You should only take 2 inhalations of SYMBICORT twice a day. Higher doses will not provide additional benefits. Important Safety Information about SYMBICORT for COPD Call your doctor if you notice any of the following symptoms: change in amount or color of sputum, fever, chills, increased cough, or increased breathing problems. People with COPD may have a higher chance of pneumonia. SYMBICORT may increase your risk of osteoporosis and some eye problems (cataracts or glaucoma). You should have regular eye exams. Thrush in the mouth and throat may occur. Tell your doctor if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure before taking SYMBICORT. Do not use SYMBICORT with other long-acting-beta2-agonists for any reason. SYMBICORT does not replace fast-acting inhalers for sudden symptoms. > > Joe, > Do you know off-hand if this includes drugs like spiriva and symbicort?
