Debby and ,

I read with amazement the conditions that you two tolerate to educate our

youth. I feel very lucky to live in one of the better school districts in my

area. I struggle as a single MOM to keep my son in his current school (He's

a senior) but when I read your stories it only makes me sure that I have

sacrificed for the right reasons.

My hat is off to all you teachers. I am sure it is sometimes a very

unappreciated profession. As a MOM who values a quality education. Thank

you for all you do to educate our kids.

Classrooms

Hey and the rest of you!

Well, I am getting closer to calling OSHA. I spent my Sunday in ER.

I woke up this AM with a splitting headache and vomiting. So hubby took

me to ER. I had this two weeks ago. They finally gave me a shot of

Demerol and Phenegran. It helped and I feel better tonight...just

drugged. My lft's were near normal and the wbc were OK, so there was no

infection. Just frustrated, but glad I feel better!

ANyway, they treated it like a

migraine. Oh my gosh, how do people survive with these things? I am

not going to put up with this. Interestingly enough, they

began once school opened!!! This is rather interesting. I am

not going to school tomorrow...just staying home and resting.

, thank you for your very kind words. Indeed, some of us DO work in deplorable conditions. Even though I have bad conditions, I have it good overall! I have a good salary, I have a job.

However, there are those terrible situations where it is so frustrating. I KNOW the children need fresh air, and I KNOW that the children need good lighting. I just don't understand it.

I wonder how the district office would function without proper AC and lighting?

I am new on this site. I was wondering how many people here becamse sick

because of working in a classroom that was moldy. I have a feeling that there

are quit a few of us and it waould be nice to think, haha, that we could do

something about it. Just something to hope for I guess.

I got sick in a school room. The first time in 1983... the second time in the

early 2000's. My age, the second time, made it more difficult to recover.

I also worked in a moldy basement office! It was a nightmare. By the end I was

coming upstairs just so I could breathe and give my burning eyes a break.

Institutional buildings are the worst-schools especially and I am having an

issue with my synagogue right now because they have a monster mold problem that

they refuse to address and I can't even let my husband go there anymore because

he comes home with mold spores all over him.
