Guest guest
Most do not have a dietician on staff in the doctor offices. They usually ask if you want to go to a dietician if you have many questions or they just say, " Eat more salads " . They don't have a clue. My husband who is on dialysis has a dietician on staff at the lab he goes to. But even then it is sketchy.  Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Thursday, April 12, 2012 10:16 AM Subject: Re: Re: Crazy Medical question  I am so lucky to have the Dr. that I have. He is quit knowledgeable about diabetes. A childhood friend of mine just had a heart attack in Feb. She has had the same Dr. for years, we talked about what tests her Dr. had given her as she grew older - we are both 78. Thru our conversation, she discovered that her Dr. was not taking as good of care as he should have. My Dr. admitted that his training was lacking in nutrition, but he has done a lot of reading and has a Registered Dietitian on staff that I get to chat with and ask questions. ew Re: Crazy Medical question You are lucky your doc even knows what HFCS is, EW! Most don't and would rather just give you a pill and have you go on eating crappy stuff, since most are totally clueless about nutrition! Count your blessings! My doctor refuses to believe that changing my eating habits led to my miraculous recovery! > > I am diabetic. My Dr. told me not to eat anything with HFCS in it. Guest guest
With you eating so many veggies, any doctor should know that was the reason, I'd think. But they don't do herbs because it isn't regulated and don't know how much you actually get and I understand that.  But the usual and I've gotten it from 2 doctors is to eat more salads. That is it. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Thursday, April 12, 2012 8:36 AM Subject: Re: Crazy Medical question  You are lucky your doc even knows what HFCS is, EW! If you google High Fructose Corn Syrup, you wouldn't believe (or maybe you would), what health problems this food additive can cause. YIKES! And yet the Canadian and U.S. governments tell us that it is safe. Horse feathers. A few years ago, I did a purge of all food products that contained MSG (and it's many other forms and names) from my fridge and pantry. Now I getting around to purging anything with HFCS in it. So far I found a jar of mustard with it in it. > Good thing I've gotten rid of most processed foods and pretty much just shop the outer walls of the grocery store, and rarely go down the isles. But it just goes to show you how vigilant you have to be if even a jar of mustard can contain something so harmful to your health. > > Don > >
Guest guest
I thought fructose was the sugar in fruit. But corn syrup comes from corn. I am not quite sure why they are together. Do you know?
