Melody and anyone else who easts pea shoots, is there any special kind of pea or does it not matter? When I read on a web page that there seeds are either organic or conventional what does conventional mean? Guest guest
Thats a good qestion. I grow my own peas. At the end of the season, I let the pods dry and then harvest the seeds. Because I grow several different kinds of peas, they cross breed and will not be true if you replant them, so I use them for sprouting. If I were to buy pea seeds to sprout, I would choose Oregon Sugar Pod. However, Sprout People has a mix that is quite good. Now here is a question for Melody. Mel, was it you or n that bought peas at the store and tried to sprout them. What were the results. ew More questions..lol Hello all This is , ' Wife. Guest guest
My next experiment is going to be popcorn sprouts. You grow them like you do sunnies and pea shoots. And when I do them, I'll make a video. Imagine, popcorn sprouts growing on my shelves. Now how cool will that be? Melody > > Ew, > Thanks, now I have to ask, on the ones you tried, Do they taste good? lol > > I have checked out all the different types fo sprouts they offer and was doing some cost comparisons and came across a place that offered organic veggies seeds as well so it made me think. thats why I was asking...lol They also had a similar situation like sprout people where they sell organic or conventional broccoli seeds. So thats what made me wonder. > > To bad tomato, pepper and squash sprouts are inedible, I love them....lol > > Ive also heard that pop corn sprouts are edible know anything about that? > > Thanks so much > >
Guest guest
Hi, Melody here. I'm the one that bought Goya peas in the store and they SPROUTED BEAUTIFULLY!!!! I store them in the freezer. One bag would last MONTHS because as you know, they give you more than one cutting. Love em!! Melody > > Thats a good qestion. I grow my own peas. Guest guest
Well, just think about it. Five or so years ago, I started with one mason jar and some alfalfa sprouts. Fast forward and Melody makes videos, has 2 book cases in her living room, is growing Sunflower shoots, Pea Shoots, Chia sprouts, Flax sprouts, brassica sprouts, etc. I've come a long way haven't I? And you're gonna LOVE what happened yesterday. I was passing my local health store and I was walking around to see if they had anything that would interest me. I saw Flax seeds. Now I don't need flax seeds but I picked up the package and was reading all about golden Flax seeds. Someone saw me doing this and walked over to me and said " What do you do with these things, I never heard of this'. I looked at her and said " Are you happy with your bowel movements? " The look on her face was priceless. But what was more priceless were the 3 people who walked over to me and said: " That stuff makes you go to the bathroom, really??? Because I take prunes, and nothing works " talking about the benefit of healthy flora in the gut and how Flax can help you do this (along with healthy eating of course). I told them not to overload on this item but to start gradually and in a week or so (just as long as they don't have anything else going on their gut) that Flax can benefit them GREATLY. Then they started asking me 'How do you use this? " I said " I sprout Flax " They looked at me and said " you do WHAT? " I said 'well, you can grind it up in a grinder and add it to whatever you are eating, make sure you drink plenty of water, etc. etc. I then said 'I make it into greens " . They looked at me and said 'You can turn these seeds into greens, how do you do that? " So there was Melody, in the middle of the store giving a sprouting lecture to 4 constipated people who haven't gone to the bathroom regularly in god only knows how long. I then began to talk about stools and shapes and what SHOULD be happening. I then told them about the heart healthy benefits of Flax. And all this talk began because someone was constipated. ROFL. Melody P.S. They ALL bought the Flax > > You know, Mel, with you I can imangine anything. > ew > Re: More questions..lol > > My next experiment is going to be popcorn sprouts.
