Hey ,

Welcome aboard. I recently lost my mother too so my heart goes out to you.

I took the challenge last summer and went from a size 12 to a size 4 (I am

a female) and gained muscle at the same time. There are lots of new folks on

here as well as veterans. If you have questions, ask. One of us will

usually have an answer but mostly you get lots of answers.

Best of luck with your transformation!

Hi !

I am new to this list too, but it really seems like a nice group of people!

I am doing my 2nd challenge. The first one I did last year but only made it 4

weeks. Let me tell you in those 4 weeks I made HUGE progress. This program

really truely 100% works!!

Good luck and I look forward to hearing about your progress!

I'm sorry about your mom, that is really cool that you are doing this in her

memory.

My name is Melody and this is my first real week on the program too. Your

stats sound a lot like my husband's but he won't do it with me. Oh well, his

loss. I'm 5'7 " and weigh 170 lbs (after two really bad pregnancies -

complications and stuff). The only part of the program I'm having trouble

with is eating so much. I usually have breakfast, an afternoon snack (like

an apple or a shake and a small supper. It's just what I feel comfortable

eating, it wasn't a restricted calorie diet or anything. I have to

consentrate mostly on the weight lifting. It's not that I have trouble with

it, it's just that finding 45 minutes in the morning is tough since at least

one of the kids is always up around six. There's no way with my schedule I

can get up at 5:00 to work out! Anyway, welcome to the group.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question about achieving a 10 while using a stationary bike. Is it

best to use a lot of resistance and not being able to pedal as fast, or is it

better to use lower resistance and being able to pedal much faster? Any

thoughts? Thanks. Same with the stairmaster?

I'm truly sorry about the loss of your mother. I almost lost my

mother to breast cancer 7 years ago, and I can't imagine if I had.

What you are doing in her memory is wonderful.

I've been on this list for - wow - a little over 5 weeks - as I'm on

my 32nd day of my first (full) round. These are a wonderful group of

people, very motivational, very inspirational, very informative.

Welcome to the group!

I am very sorry about the loss of your mother. I, too, have dedicated my

challenges to my mother whom I lost 5 years ago to breast cancer.

I am in my second challenge and have gone from a size 10 to a size 4. The

program works!! Remember: Progress -- Not Perfection!

Good luck and I look forward to hearing more from you.

HI!

Your dedication to your Mom has brought tears to my eyes in memory of my own

Mom. Yours is Program with purpose and direction. I love your tenderness

toward your Mom's memory.

I've been on this road since 1998 and am a totally different human being. I

have a new confidence I thought wasn't possible and I feel like I've added

years to my life. I'm 49 in July and I can tell you there's no way I feel

anywhere near that age.

I now am helping others to achieve their goals by acting as a Success Coach

for BFL.

Best of luck with your new lifestyle.

Your right Lonn.

Melody please look at the eating plan and use it. You're going to drive

yourself into the ground. Kind of like setting yourself up for the fall.

Please increase your food intake.

Hi ,

I did the bike today, (for the first time-I'm a treadmill/elliptical girl)!

I used the manual setting and just increased and decreased the levels. I

think the levels are adjusting the resistance. It was hard!

Melody,

Regarding finding time to work out, Why not make it a family fun time. You

could use weights at home and allow your children to workout with you, so to

speak. You could get little 1 lb weights and let them copy what you are

doing. It might get thim in the habit for later when they can really use it.

Just a thought.

Hi !

Let me join the chorus of people who have welcomed you to the list. You and I

have chatted briefly before online, as you will probably recall.

I'm glad you've joined because you've certainly found a place with plenty of

people who are willing to offer support, encouragement and advice.

Also, thank you for sharing the inspiring dedication. Like so many others, I

was moved by it.

May all your energy propel you toward the achievement of your goals!

Yours in good health,

Laury,

I do try that with my 3 year old but it's my 8 month old with the VERY SHORT

attention span that's the problem. Thanks for the advise though. maybe it

will work when the little one gets a bit older. For now, I guess I will have

to do the workouts all together when I can and if not, do them in sections.

Not quite as effective but a lot better then nothing!

I have several power tools and never gave it second thought. Today's stuff

is pretty much battery operated. I have also used the heavier tools and it

has never bothered me. I had my 1st implant 5 years ago. Its a defib/pacemaker.

Only have been zapped once about 3 years ago. Went into Stanford last year

for a replacement (its a lot smaller) and it only took about 4 hrs and I was

headed back home. This time I had no restrictions as far as activity. The

implant

is in the upper left side. I have full motion as to using my left arm. I go

back

to Stanford every 3 mo. for a download of data and check up. Other than that

I forget its even there. I had my first massive heart attack in 1970. (The Doc

told my wife then I may last another 5 years) I am 70 now and medical

science has managed to keep one step ahead of my problems........ so far!

Enjoy Life as best you can, you only go around once.

Dear Jake,

Sorry, I am not into power tools but I have used my sewing machine and my

serger. I use a very hot glue gun and a embosser. I have been warned by my

doctor about cell phone and the terrible thing is I am death in my left ear

and so I have to use my right o use the phone and my icd is in the right

side. I also have problems at my daughters new house with her garage door

opener. It only happens with her garage door opener no one elses. but It

causes me to get a little zap if I am in the garage and they hit the botton.

Its a littleweird.

We have great funny and laugh about it as my son-in-law always says ok Mom to

the garage if I tease him too much.

Take Care

My Guidant booklet AND my EP cardiologist said to be careful when using

battery powered tools. No problems, apparently, with plug-in tools. I've

used a battery-powered screwdriver with no problems but nothing more

powerful than that.

Jake,

I use power tools all the time, also. My Doc. said o stay away from the

battery opperated ones and make sure the ones I use are well grounded.

I have had my ICD since 7/97. Had one series of three shocks in 5 min.

in 10/97, nothing since. Good luck and enjoy your tools!!

Listen Ms.Green you don't know me where did I quote that i was perfect?

I'm not and where does it say that non-perfect don't pray?

When you pray you keep a focus and postive mind!

And the way you are speaking you're not in that mind frame, that is something

you have to adjust in your lifE!

I not going to dwell in the house of teh evil, but rather ponder on the

great!

Harrasing people at work!

Listen sweetie..i think you should take the time and re-read!

I emailed off the list it's no reason for the extra BS on the list

this a fitness group not Oprah or one life to live!

IF you looking for Drama......Watch T.V. or something in that nature!

But please don't drag my name in the dirt......Remember that the truth hurts

and and the truth shall set you free!

So I hope you take out the time next to re-read the post!

Gracefully yours Peace!
