Dona,

A solution of one part household bleach to 9 parts of water will do the trick.

Just add your dish soap to this. Wash the sprouters, scrub with a brush, if

necessary and rinse well.

Well...I just soaked all the pieces for 20 minutes and then washed them with

regular dish soap and rinsed well. Do you think it needs a stronger solution?

the pods.

I don't know.  I just ran some of the bleach and water through the system once

and then put rinse water through the system twice and tossed the water.  Then I

filled it with distilled water.

You won't feel any older than you did the day before.  Doesn't usually jump up

on you, but sneaks up.  You ae eating right and think of all who are not at

that level.  You are one up on them.

A neighbor told me it would probably cost me $100 for every tomato I

harvested.  Might be more than that.  But part of that is getting initial

supplies and top soil and the learning curve -- or at least I hope so.

Re: Sprouts Turn Brown

Wow, how nice that he responded so fast.

Good information too.

I'm STILL glad you will be trying the SproutGarden. I have never had such a

bumper crop of sprouts in all my life.

Today I gave away ziplock bags to everybody I know.

My landlord, my beautician, the lady I eat breakfast with, the lady across the

street.

I am absolutely being known as Sproutlady Melody.

And you'll probably be Sproutlady Dona, lol

My neighbor was just teasing me.  He is a growe too but he grows bushes and

flowers.  He is going to give us a couple of palm trees.  He has been helping

my husband weed the back and put in our garden.  We try to pay back by taking

them out to dinner every so often.  He hasn't been too interested in my little

plants in the AeroGarden.  My lettuces are really taking off.  I need to check

this weekend and see if it is 4 weeks as we need kelp if it is 4 weeks.  I just

got 2 grow lamps and 2 light holders or whatever.  Wasn't necessarily designed

for a grow light but by plugging in a grow bulb and it has a clamp on it and a

cord.  The 2 lamps were less than $12 and the 2 clamp lights were less than

$15.   That was a lot less than prices I'd seen on line for one grow light.

So as soon as my little plant bottoms with the moisture top comes in, we should

be able to plant and  raise some more crops from seed.  We can then put them

out in the

garden after they grow a bit.  I haven't taken photos yet as I don't know how

to post single photos on here.  I will try to get my camera charged up so I can

take some videos.  I have added a bit fast but I think it is worth it.  I got

my 2 shelf units up.  Not much room between shelves but I can take out a shelf

to let them grow up more.  I have 3 on one now and can't see what is on top so

I need to move one or both over to the other shelf unit.  I have another

aerogarden coming.  I have some tomato plants starting well from seed out

back.  I have corn and beans and squash growing in one planter out there and

have strawberries, but they aren't doing much. I didn't get my brushes to

polinate and think I missed the time.  I bought some brushes at Lowe's today.

I am so excited about all these plants.  Of course, I know this isn't the best

season but if I can keep them growing until the fall, I should be able to have

anothr batch of plants

then.

Jealousy is such an unattractive trait. Never mind your neighbour Carolyn, just

be proud of what you're achieving, which is wonderful :)

Ah yes, I bet she even eats purple lettuces along with the green ones and maybe

some red too.  And her popcorn sprouts are pink.  Bet there are some with red

stems, too.  I can't recall if radish has that or not.  Seems that large

fenugreek or whatever it is called has some red in the stems.  Keep on going

Melody -  if you can't dance, you sure do sing.  If you get y ou a RicKy

albumn I bet you could dance sitting down.  i do in the car.  That is

what we put in the CD player when I get tired on trips and it perks me up and I

am there dancing in my chair.  My husband will say, " Is it time for Ricky

" and I already have the AC on high and it is time.  Works really well.

I like the one with " La Vida Loca. " If you don't move when that is on then you

are dead.  LOL.    I don't know if the sprouts will like the music or not.

I knew it!  When the Latin music comes on, one can't resist dancing or if can't

dance, at least the hips and shoulders move.  And you were moving there and it

wasn't even Rickey !!!!  you go girl!!!

I should probably listen to Rickey more.   Howver, I may go to the

massage therapist first.

Yep, that latin music can do it.  But I'd like it a bit lower.  But when I am

in the car and trying to keep from falling asleep, goes on there rather

loud and my hips move and my shoulders do too.  The foot stays on the gas pedal

though or the cruise is on.   Makes me want to move and want to dance.  I

even had a walker and danced across the dance floor at church during a wedding

reception when the Latin music was on.    They said I stayed right on

beat.  I used to take ballroom dancing lessons - several years of them as

exercise.  That was life before...

I sure do love the dancing though and am a big fan of Dancing with the Stars

though I don't like the judging system on there.  i want the best to win.  It

didn't this time.   But the dancing this last time was really fantastic.

They have a garden in the back of the laundromat?  Do you mean a sprout garden

or a veggie garden?
