Guest guest
We like popcorn. I wonder if our popcorn would sprout? It pops. Maybe I'll just take some and soak it and see. We bought ours from the boyscouts. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2012 10:06 PM Subject: Re: Popcorn Sprouts  Question seconded here Melody! I really want to try some popcorn sprouts having read the sproutpeople description/pages. They do say that the flavour isn't for everyone though. Got a bag of popcorn kernels arriving tomorrow... I guess I'll discover the flavour soon enough, but in the meantime I'd love a description of where they fit into cuisine. What do they go well with, how do people who grow them tend to serve them? Of those who have grown them, did you like them and if not, why not?! Pea sprouts are undeniably pea flavoured, ditto with sunflower tasting sunflowery... does this follow with corn kernel sprouts?! Do we get a sense of 'popcorn' flavour?! To me, they sound like quite an exotically flavoured sprout/shoot Thanks! Guest guest
The popcorn sweetness is like an intense artificial sweetener to me, rather than the sweetness of fresh corn. It's definitely interesting to try but it's not in my rotation. Molly > > Question seconded here Melody! I really want to try some popcorn sprouts having read the sproutpeople description/pages. Guest guest
Lol, I'll probably follow Melody's sprout patty suggestion and if I don't like them, I will feed them to our guinea pig ....And we'll be eating a lot of popcorn!
