Guest guest
I concluded my test of three different growing mediums and wheat grass. I used soil w/ vermiculite, straight vermiculite & coir with a solution of about 4 gallons of water and 1 tsp of the kelp fertilizer sold @ Sprout People. The vermiculite & the coir produced virtually the same height and color but the soil grown grass was a lighter green and shorter by about 1/2 " . Not a huge difference, but it was interesting. The organic soil mix was from Monrovia Nursery. Anyone have a favorite pea for growing shoots? My first attempt was just using the peas that we plant in the outdoor garden, probably a sugar snap. They were reaaaly good. I then learned that the speckled peas were supposed to be the best - bought some, grew some and maybe my technique was different but they grew really tall with small leaves and not as much flavor as the first batch. By the way.....love the Hot & Sweet mix from Sprout People. Donna
