Guest guest
HI Al where do you live? In Canada or the United States. I am curious did both your sons have a lot of behavior issues growing up and if yes did the behaviors eventually subside as they got farther into their teenage years. I live in BC Canada, I am sure you have read some of my posts. I have not spoken to anyone else who has twin boys older than sons Neil and who will be 15 in September. I have notice my sons finally maturing some and they are starting to recognize the world around them more. They also are starting to understand the things they are learning in school have meaning outside of school. The biggest change is they are both really starting to understand they each have their own voice and if they use words instead of noises or negative behavior people listen and respond to them. My sons did have a lot of negative behavior issues growing up and still do some times. Most of the behaviors came from not being understood and treated like they did not know anything, or they were getting sick. Most of their behaviors were a way of telling me or whom ever they were with, they were not happy with the current situation. I had a lot of battles with the school especially trying to get the school to understand if you have a hard time with verbal communication, it is going to come out a different way. How are your boys doing now? Are they almost finished high school? What do you see for their future, i.e. jobs, more schooling, any kind of programs that will continue with life skills towards some kind of independence. I hope you do not mind me asking, I am starting to think of these things for my sons and wondering what other parents with older children with any kind of disability are doing for their kids. I hope your summer is going great.
