Guest guest
Sharon, I totally understand. Thanks to the Prednisone I've put on some additional poundage too. Isn't Prednisone great stuff. The "cure at times seems worse than the cause." My BS has been elevated this week too. Every thing goes wacky all at once it seems. I hate to think what's going to happen if they up it. Trying to eat low carbs and stay healthy. Boy would I love a Hot Fudge Sundae about now.

Hi Sharon! Since when is there such a thing as " only 143 pounds? " I know we set high goals and want so badly to reach them, but think of the alternative...you could still have those 143 pounds (that's a whole person)! I think you have done wonderfully well -- congratulations! Hugs and blessings, Ann
Guest guest
Sharona, my friend, I would KILL to loose 142. I'm at 110 dropped and haven't lost a pound since 30 July. You are doing FAN-freeking-TASTIC. Remember from whence thy help commeth, and lift up thy head and REJOICE, for thou hast done well, thou good and FAITHFUL DS-er. Enter in to the joy of the new you!! I was on a 23 day plateau (who's counting--LOL) but my body continued to change and get smaller. I am sure I have been gaining muscle, although I still don't SEE muscles. So, maybe reshaping is what is in the works with you right now! Hugs and blessings, Ann

I would still like to loose that 30 lbs, but not if it meant above the waist...I am bony enough there...lol I will still try to get further from that 200 mark, 180 would be great! I plateaued like you are doing now at 6 mos out and had lost only 8o lbs, so dont give up yet. You still have another entire year to go. Your door is still wide open, be patient, it will happen. (that is what ~amy~ used to tell me and she was right...) Eat more protien...I know it sounds crazy, but I busted plateaus by eating more protien. The Krispy Kremes didnt work for me....yea I tried them more than once...stayed in the bathroom the entire next day and didnt loose an ounce. sigh But for some reason more protien gets your metabolism moving again. I have met the end of my window of oportunity, or at least I can feel that door shutting, but I can still loose on my own- if I can find the willpower to do it. Thanks for the encouragement, though. Hope yours is > over soon. You still have lots of time.. > Sharon in Onyx Yes, the plateau ended on the 23rd day and I have lost a little, very, very little. My weight loss has really slowed up -- 4.5 pounds a month for the last two months and a pound so far this month. I am gaining muscle, though, so that is reflected in the lack of weight loss, I think. I can actually feel muscles in my arms now -- which is more than I could feel before! I'm getting smaller though, and will be able to wear a 38 bra whenever I can afford a new one! Yikes! That seems so small to me. Thanks for understanding, Sharon! As for lots of time, I am almost 11 months out now, and I know things are going very, very slowly. On the other hand, I am pretty happy with my weight, knowing that I will lose more when I have my hernia repairs/tummy tuck, so I am not worried about where I am. Dr. K wants me weighing less than I wanted to. I would like full body plastics, though! I think it was Ed who said he feels like a little sofa in a big slipcover -- dang if I can't REALLY relate to that now! LOL I wish I could SELL my extra skin -- I'd be rich beyond my wildest imaginings! Heh, heh, heh. Hugs and blessings, Ann

Thank you, Sharon! I don't have problem with constipation...I just back up and back up and gain weight, until I finally have a day when everything comes out. I can feel it and see it backing up in my stomach and I know what is normal for me, and this ain't it. Sometimes lying down and rubbing my hernias gets things going again, sometimes it doesn't. Guest guest
I do not think that is FRENCH it is more like SPANISH!!!! Coming from French Parents that is far from FRENCH. Denis B. Sharon Hi Sharon, That Doris Day song is " Que Cera, cera " which is French for What will be, will be. You can probably get all the lyrics from an online source like google (www.google.com and type in lyrics) Finding out the lyrics to a lot of songs I thought I knew from when I was HEARING. Whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours to see, que cera, cera. Nucleus Volunteer Dora, This post made a song Doris Day use to sing pop into my head. Part of is is " Whatevers to be will be..the future's not ours to see " . Whatever you wear I am wishing you the best. ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Guest guest
> Hi Sharon...I cherish my photos of the two of us together when I come out to Delano. I think of you as a smashing success! One who went before me, and one I look up to. I still have 20/25 to lose, and gripe a lot about inconsequential stuff- like a 35 " waist and 37 " hips.. I still think of myself as fat- still think- oh I can't do this or that cuz I'm too big. At least I don't think people look at me anymore wondering when I'm going to deliver! God has us in the shape and the place we're in for a reason. Please do not despair.... how is your son? Love to you Betsy Hi Betsy I too cherish the fun we have together. I think that is the best part of this whole journey, the friends I have made and the fun we have together. My son will have to have surgery in the 1st week of Dec. He has exactly what Marta said he had, pilonital cysts (sp) in the sinus cavity below his spine. He has 3 openings and 2 more developing. They will have to be cut out and he will have to heal from the inside out (soud familiar?). The Dr wanted to do it soonerbut when he heard about our Hawaii trip the end of next month he said to wait until we got back.....after all he has lived with this over a year (yea, and that is why it has gotten so bad). Another month wont hurt, and this way he can enjoy Hawaii. When is Jac scheduled to come back? And are you coming with him? If so - Woolgrowers will be calling us home...lol much love, Sharon in Onyx
Guest guest
Glad you're getting to go to Hawaii before his surgery. I don't know when/if Jac has rescheduled his DS. It won't be until after Jan 04. My daughter is getting married on Jan 3rd in Vermont. We will all go up for that big event. Did I tell you I don't like cold weather? Oh well- it was in the 30's with snow today in New Hampshire- here was a balmy 80 something. E has been so patient waiting for God to put the right man in her path- and a age 36, she has been rewarded with Luke. We are so happy for them. Anyway, Jac's son is scheduled to be his support person. Depending on the date, I will try to come out, esp if it is near my 2 yr anniversary in Feb. Today was a sad day for me.. my 62nd and the first since my mom died. Tomorrow will be better. Betsy
