Need strength now!! > > So proud of you... > > Kristy ======================== Kristy love... your getting ready to have your plastic surgery...you had better be getting in plenty of protein and iron....it is soooo important to healing. lol...I remember how important nice thin scars were to you......There are never any guarentees that we will heal perfectly...but we do want to give it all the help we can. <<speaking in a stern voice>> BACK AWAY FROM THAT COKE AND CROISSANT!!! Pick up the chicken and water and chow down. I had a meeting at the bank 1st- it was really hard there not to have one, but got even harder at the street fair. Just wondering how that is working for you as a DS'r? I dont know if I could take something like that- but you are brave to try. Hope all is working out for you....YOU DO NEED TO STALK UP ON THE PROTIEN before your surgery so all will go well. You wont feel like eating much afterward...at least I didnt... Guest guest
Those areas sound painful, painful, painful. When my incision drained, Dr. K had me wash it 2x/day in the shower with dial soap. I thought peroxide, but he said Dial was better. Maybe you should ask him? You're no more confused than the rest of us- oops, I should speak for my self. Betsy Sharon from now on I think I will use Jon's method of incision care. He used alcohol to keep the incisions dry. I have to dress up the raw, open, painful areas which are very close to the incisions so I probably need to dry out the incisions, too, huh? Guest guest
Turk, My husband says they are safe. They have a small motor, no bigger than the motor in an electric mixer, so they won't produce any big electro-magnetic fields. And the high freq sound waves should stay reletively contained to the unit, but even if they don't they would not be a problem either. Guest guest
That is all we need to do and sometimes to tell you the truth I am still very broken and I can barely make 1 minute at a time. Dr. Toren is wonderful, an old white haired very Jewish man with a wonderful zest for life. Somewhat like a Dr. Phil type. He never tells you that you are wrong or bad he gives you great suggestions on another idea you might want to consider. I think the biggest situation he is helping me with at 58 is the horrible child abuse and child sexual abuse I suffered. He has also given me permission to fall down and to cry and to hurt but to no longer be a victim. AS he would say sometimes we have been a victim for so long we know no other way to be but a victim/ You have given me much encouragement and support. You are a true friend! Guest guest
Ya know...there is another way of looking at things: We always refer to this as a " journey " ....and it is. You have been on a two year journey, but please don't feel sad. One of the best parts of the journey is " coming home " , and the memories that we gather while we are " gone " . The way I see it, after our journey, after the long road of education and enlightenment....you recieve your " personal grand prize " - you recieve your entire life ahead of you with health and mobility. How grand is that? Don't be sad Sharon....I'm happy for you, you found the pot of gold. Some day.....that pot of gold will be mine, I know this because I am on the journey towards it. I am so happy for you. ~Sandi I am coming up on my 2 year annniversary Dec 20th, and > then the honeymoon is over. > I am a little sad, and not sure why, but this feels like the end, > when it should be the beginning. I love being where I am at. I loved being able to have Mike drop me off at the beginning of Alii Dr, and me telling him I would meet him at the restaurant at the end of the drive, so I could get my protien drink, and meet him for breakfast, and being able to walk fast to get there before he ordered and not be out of breath or wondering what I was thinking. It was rejuvinating. I love being able to snorkle all day long until I was all pruny and Mike said it was time to get out, and not feel tired - but instead whined because I had to quit. lol I loved hiking all over the volcano at nite and not ever wondering when we were going to stop or how far it was to get back..lol I love having all this energy and feeling like I am young and vibrant (okay so I still avoid mirrors and reality- so sue me! lol). I dont mind the down parts as much these days, I guess it is true, you can get use to just about everything. lol But most of all, I just love you guys, the friends and family I have made thru this journey- that wont end- but continue for as long as it can... Guest guest
I fried a chicken breast his morning (drizzled in flour) .... and ate it with two slices of bacon on a small bun - with cheddar cheese - it was yummy (had some cheetos with it too - but not very many - cause I got full really fast!) Now, I'm just drinking my water - I'm going to make those scales move darnit - you'll probably hear me yelling from Texas when they finally do!!! > C-ya Oh belive me I do! Just thinking about the flour you put on the chicken makes me fart, not to mention the bread. Anything with white flour gives me gas until the cows come home. Oh my. If what you had for breakfast doesnt make things move well, the only other thing may be Krispy Kreme donuts! lol Sharon in Onyx
