Guest guest
This happened earlier today. I was visiting my friend around the corner who is a beautician. She was sitting between clients and there were other beauticians there. My friend and I were talking about healthy eating (my friend by the way wants nothing to do with sprouting, eating healthy, anything like that, she's diabetic and hates food, lol) Anyway as we were talking this lovely young girl who I thought was 17, approaches me and says 'Aren't you the lady who told her about the sugar free cake with the seltzer? " and I said " yes I am " . She then said and I quote " " OH I LOVE TO GROW STUFF " . I just stared at her. Here she was (and I really thought she was about 17 or 18) and I said " what do you grow? " and she said " Well I have a Terrace and I grow tomatoes but I'd sure love to learn to grow other things " .....and there was Melody's cue!!! I said " You have a Terrace?? " She said " yes, I have an apartment with a terrace " . I said " how old are you? " and she said " 30 " . I looked at her and she said 'Yeah, I know I look young " YOUNG???? She looked 17 18 years old I then said " I have a garden growing in my living room " . She looked at me and said " Get Outta here " . And there she was all dressed in her beautician outfit with shears in her hands and towels on her neck and I said " When is your next client? " She said " Oh not for another hour " . I said " Come with me " and she said WHERE?? and I said 'My house'. She said " Your house?? " And as we are walking to my house I said " I can't wait to see the look on your face when you see my book cases and sprouts " . She said 'Sprouts, what are sprouts?? " again. Melody's cue!!! I walked her in my house right into my living room and she was all OH MY GOD, THIS IS FABULOUS, I MUST TAKE PHOTOS. My boyfriend is so into all of this. He wants to start eating healthy " She whisked out her camera phone and began snapping photos of my shelves and my microgreens and sprouts. And then I showed her my sprouting trays with my fenugreek and broccoli sprouts and she was all excited. She said " look at the natural sunlight, oh my god " . It was the MOST POSITIVE SPROUT SHARING EXPERIENCE I have ever had. She was writing stuff down, writing down Sproutpeople.com's address, we exchanged Facebook info. She was especially fascinating by my pea shoots and chia sprouts. She never knew you could do this. I NEVER KNEW YOU COULD DO THIS before I started doing it. What a lovely young woman. Well, tonight, she just friended me on facebook, wrote a very nice message about me on her wall, told her mother (who is diabetic) about me and fenugreek and is determined to learn how to sprout. She is now watching my youtube videos and laughing her head off. And I made a new friend. This is SO COOL!!! Melody
Guest guest
Mel, You're the greatest! Might I suggest that someone was generous with you, perhaps you might slip the young lady a few seeds to get her started? ew Have I got a sprout story to tell all of you!!! Guest guest
Way ahead of you. I initially brought my kale chips to the beauty parlor where they were devoured and I gave her some to bring to her mother. She LOVED them. Tomorrow I'm giving her a bag of seeds and a small mason jar with a mesh lid. That will start her off. See??? lol Melody > > Mel, > You're the greatest! > Might I suggest that someone was generous with you, perhaps you might slip the young lady a few seeds to get her started? > ew > > Have I got a sprout story to tell all of you!!! > > This happened earlier today.
