Guest guest
Robin, I can't answer your questions specifically. But I can say that the whole topic is not a simple " tab A into slot B " situation. Or A causes B, always. The correct answers are always " yes, " " no, " and " it depends. " Medicine, science and carefully evaluated (and challanged) experience can establish certain facts. There are not altered by opinion. They are facts. The earth rotates in a 24 hour cycle and it also rotates around the sun. The sun comes up in the east and sets in the west. We need oxygen to live but not too much or too little. Without water we die but it must not be liquid water in the lungs. My opinion or believe or that of authorities do not alter those " facts. " There will be other information which is not as well established but is good enough for most situations for most people. Other information is being developed and is open to dispute because the definitive " facts " (if any) have yet to be determined. Opinions, sometimes minority or crack-pot opinions, provide the breakthough. Other " facts " are beyond our current ability to understand. What those experts and authorities cannot determine is how you or me or any other indivdual will experience exposure to substances and how we will interpret that event. This is absolutely open to discussion. But we must all remember it is usually an " individual " experience, not a " group " experience shared with others. Sickbuildings has proven productive to identifying what is shared and what isn't. Keeping in mind that sometimes the sharing is but with one other person, and at other times true for many but not all. Are all molds or mold based products bad for us? No. Consider penicillin (not to be confused with Penicillium) or cheese for some of us. But not all. The yeast in the gut is a critical component of a healthy digestive system and it helps keep bacteria at appropriate levels. The mere presence of yeast is not a problem. But the balance of yeast with the bacteria and other factors is critical. Is the beta glucan in the cell walls of yeast staying inside the cell wall? Or is the cell wall broken or damaged and thus releasing the glucans and multitude of other components. The world of a cell is as complex as the world of the earth, the human body, or the universe. There was a recent article in New Scientist demonstrating that many individual cells function as if they had a brain! (Not yet a fact). Pushing for definitive answers is not productive. Pushing for clarification and differentiation for better understanding is. Accepting and appreciating YOUR unique experience is a fundamental fact of the best level of health possible for you in your situation. Carl Grimes Healthy Habitats LLC ----- What is really frustrating is all the mixed up info. One expert says this and another says that. Sorry to sound neg.. but I think some health practioners dont really have a clue as to really why they say what they do. They dont research things fully.. they take the phamra like explanation for the supp companies.. They do this with info in general.. they dont question. They cannot really explain why. It makes sense to question this stuff.. such as are all beta glucans bad and or all beta glucans good? Are all yeasts and yeast based supps bad or good and why? For certain HLA types.. then why? Is then every yeast or fungus bad for all or any HLA type.. then will ALL molds make any or all HLA types sick? With the ferments.. is it because you cannot control the microbes and funguses well enough? Or is it the inherent microbes and fungi that are the problem.. do they all create toxins? Do our natural inherent fungi cause us to be sick or just the ones that are not naturally present (introduced with a kefir drink or a kombucha drink?) or certain ones of the ones that are not naturally present? Again.. are ALL molds, fungi dangerous to moldy HLA types? I also experience a hard inflammatory response. I dont want to add to that. > > Same time, I dont want to avoid all yeasts or supps, foods derived from yeasts or fermentation if they are really no harm to me. > > Robin
