Guest guest
Robin, Good question. And to help understand the answer, think " dust. " Spores, spore fragments, hyphae, hyphal fragments and other particulates have the same general physical size and characteristics as " dust. " And, in fact, are a component of dust. They are part of what makes up the broad category of airborne particles we call " dust. " When dust samples are analyzed in the lab by a microscopy process called " dust characterization, " fungal-type particles are one of over 200 substances which can be identified in " dust. " Carl Grimes Healthy Habitats LLC ----- Im trying to get a grasp of what happens to those roving mold spores.. the ones left over afer a remediation and those that rove in and out of our lives via nature. We can hep vacc.. dust, damp cloth wipe, use hepa filters to take them away.. will they blow away with open windows (which seem would bring more in as well).. where do they go? My parents house had a recent mold spore invasion most likely due to contaminated scrubbers or the repair work on outside structure of house.. outside wall was removed looking for mold leaving drywall open and most likely venuse for mold spores to enter into the house. Where do these spores go? Can you air the house out without bringing more in? What happens when people do air their houses out and mold spores come in? Are they just eventually cleaned away? This is why we have air purifiers, hepa vaccs and dust rags? Will vaccuuming furniture help? I hear getting rid of furniture thats been in a WDB and stewing in the brew.. but mold spores are obviously going to come into the house and sometimes the numbers can get over 1000 per cu meter of air.. the house we are moving into was about 1300 spores per cu meter .. windows were open when checked because the floor was being sanded. For most people these counts are fine.. but for others not.. Ive never thought about this before.. spore counts, mold bad.. etc.. this is a new paradigm to get a grip on.. Thanks..
