Guest guest
Sorry forgot. My husband used Bissell carpet cleaner w scented crap used in fabric softener. It didn't sting in the esophagus in spring burned my nose. I threw it out. He says he used water in it yesterday. Must have released what was in the carpet. Our cat got an itchy rash from it over summer. I got a fever & nerve pain, which is why I wondered about Polio, when it's MCS. After that I can't handle any perfume or scents. Used to handle mild scents, but no longer. Had esophagus burning from a doctors secretary's perfume. I explained I had a reaction to fabric softener when they 1st made it at 12. Got a rash & burning. Sister washed clothes at a friends, we didn't have a dryer. Parents banned fabric softener from then on. Our marriage is on it's way out. I need a MCS place but can't afford one. He felt awful after but has had enough. He doens't understand hospitals don't avoid scented cleaners. Kathy
Guest guest
I'm sorry for so many posts. I had to put couch cusions on the floor b/c our bed's too hard, & can't afford one now. In the middle of the night I had cramps & burning in my foot. Half asleep tried to massage, kept sticking in a position & burning. Guess from the carpet cleaner poison. It's okay this morning. Just trying to live w the rest of the nerve pain.
Guest guest
I would watch out for cleaning carpets. They might not dry sufficiently if too much water is used or carpet padding might hold on to water. Carpet may be moldy underneath if it is cleaned with water too often and can't dry out in areas fast enough, maybe irregular areas on floor that moisture or water may accumulate and not dry out as fast as necessary. I'd use on vapor steam cleaning. If carpet is full of bacteria and mold, cleaning it and the evaporation of the steam or water, I *imagine* might make it more active and aerosolize it. > >Used a carpet shampooer he said filled w water. I had instant burning in esophagus & nasal & whole body. Almost went to the ER. Sat outside all afternoon & aired out the house. He used it when we moved in. In days I got a fever & nerve pain??? Guest guest
I was just going to write the same thing, Barb. Kathy, I really think those carpets and wet cleaning are trouble. I'm sorry to hear about your pain and marriage--do you have family you can stay with? ~AN On Oct 14, 2010, at 10:29 AM, " barb b w " <barb1283@...> wrote: I would watch out for cleaning carpets. Guest guest
Yes you're right. It's a personal carpet steam cleaner. It vacumes it up but you never know what's left in it. I'm doing better. Sleeping on the couch cushions helped. I had pinched nerves from an old injury that a hard bed didn't help whatever is going on w nerve endings. We'll buy a bed in time. A rocky week, we're doing better too. Can't wait to replace the carpet in time. . Hope don't have to put plastic down. I think it's scented cleaner. Can't smell any mold.
