Guest guest
Wow, this never happened before. I have many pea shoot trays growing. I just walked over to water them for the day. This particular one was using Coir. I was spritzing the water and I noticed something moving and flying. I said " maybe it's the water dripping " . IT WASN'T. I carefully looked and saw a few of these fying gnat thingees on the top of the coir (not on the top of the shoots). I didn't care and I tossed the whole thing. It was one of the disposable trays that I had so no harm no foul. I carefully inspected the other trays (where I have both coir and stg mats). NOTHING MOVING, NOTHING FLYING. And yesterday we swatted a gnat in the living room. As you know my garden shelves are in my living room. That should have given me a clue but the weather has been so erratic I didn't make the connection. And it wasn't my sunnies because I wasn't growing any sunnies. Haven't for 3 weeks. I just put up a batch this morning because they have been in the freezer. So this was just peas. So here's my question. I didn't know that peas could have the same larvae stuff as the other seeds. Am I correct? Thanks much. This is still a learning experience for me. Melody
