Guest guest
Hi,  Tubing can contain latex, which is a problem for MCS'ers. Ask for #5, 2, 1.  Get liquid oxygen or oxygen in a E-tank. cleaner oxygen. I use Salter Labs canulas, latex free, have a little odor at the beging but quickly decipates.  They are most likely vinyl I think and I wish there was something different. The Environmental store has a cermic mask and tubing for sale also that is safer.  God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: nne <Roxygardens@...> Sent: Tue, November 30, 2010 4:18:59 PM Subject: [] MCS and Oxygen Therapy  I suffer with severe facial and to some degree part of my head hurts as well. I recently recieved a prescription from my intergrative doc to try oxygen therapy at night while sleeping. I used it for a month. Medicare will not cover naturally.. grr.. Anyway, I feel the therapy may have helped to some degree but I am sooo chemically sensitive. The tubing caused me so much discomfort. Under my nose where the tubing layed was raw and red. Inside my nose was sores and bloodied. I even tried a plastic type mask that the company offered but just having the oxygen run through the tubing my nose was so sensitive after this month long experiment that it was painful as well. Does anyone have any other idea`s? I will not be seeing my doc for another 3-4 weeks and I sent the oxygen back. I hate to think it may have been helping but I can`t tolerate it because of the MCS. So tired of all this... nne~
Guest guest
Oxygen from an 'E tank' is cleaner oxygen? Do you get the oxygen same place as all medical oxygen but tank is cleaner? > > Hi, >  > Tubing can contain latex, which is a problem for MCS'ers. Ask for #5, 2, 1.  > Get liquid oxygen or oxygen in a E-tank. cleaner oxygen. I use Salter Labs > canulas, latex free, have a little odor at the beging but quickly > decipates.  They are most likely vinyl I think and I wish there was something > different. The Environmental store has a cermic mask and tubing for sale also > that is safer. > >  > > God Bless !! > dragonflymcs > Mayleen > >

Guest guest
have no idea exactly what your set up was but when we saw dr rea in dallas he had my son breath oxygen for 2 hours a day under pressure, don't recall how much, and the oxygen ran thru tygon tubing which attached to a mason jar with a little water in it to help hydrate the oxygen I think and then thru a cellophane " 3rd lung " and then more tubing to the face mask....they sell this apparatus at the environmental health foundation dallas associated with dr rea's clinic. maybe you could tolerate a couple hours of oxygen therapy better than all night therapy, i am not mcs and i think my nose would be sore with tubing attached to my face all night long. good luck, sue v. >I suffer with severe facial and to some degree part of my head hurts as >well. Guest guest
Its unfortunate that you sent the oxygen back. Tubing and masks for MCS are available at Dr. Reas store. www.ehcd.com Good luck~ > > I suffer with severe facial and to some degree part of my head hurts as well. Guest guest
Pardon my ignorance but what is an E tank? Also what is liguid oxygen? The oxygen tank I had produced its own oxygen from the air in my house. I`am not very familar with any of this. nne~ > > Hi, >  > Tubing can contain latex, which is a problem for MCS'ers. > >  > > God Bless !! > dragonflymcs > Mayleen > > > > > ________________________________ > From: nne <Roxygardens@...> > > Sent: Tue, November 30, 2010 4:18:59 PM > Subject: [] MCS and Oxygen Therapy > >  > I suffer with severe facial and to some degree part of my head hurts as well. Guest guest
Yes I get oxygen from an oxygen supply company.  If you use one of those portables that make oxygen out of the air in your house how do you know what it is filtering. For us I see that as a problem. I use liquid oxygen. I have back E-Tanks.   Yes cleaner The oxygen produced by a concentrator is between 90 and 96 percent pure oxygen, whereas compressed and liquid oxygen are nearly 100 percent pure.  God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: barb b w <barb1283@...> Sent: Tue, November 30, 2010 8:10:05 PM Subject: [] Re: MCS and Oxygen Therapy  Oxygen from an 'E tank' is cleaner oxygen? Guest guest
Here is a site that explains the different systems. I would never use the ones that make oxygen from the air in my home. I get liquid oxygen and the E-tanks are for back up. http://www.portableoxygen.org/september.html  God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: a Townsend <kmtown2003@...> Sent: Tue, November 30, 2010 10:55:00 PM Subject: Re: [] Re: MCS and Oxygen Therapy  how do we tell the difference? Guest guest
Mayleen, when you say the E tanks are for backup, do you mean you cannot get them filled w oxygen when they run out? From your post it sounds like you have two different tanks...one you get filled at oxygen supply place and the E tank which already has oxygen in it. Is that right as online it sounded to me that they shipped the E tank empty. Why the two types is what I am wondering? Perhaps one was supplied to you through your insurance? > > Here is a site that explains the different systems. I would never use the ones > that make oxygen from the air in my home. I get liquid oxygen and the E-tanks > are for back up. > > > http://www.portableoxygen.org/september.html >  > > God Bless !! > dragonflymcs > Mayleen > >
Guest guest
Hi, nne,     Below is a link to the different oxygen systems. If you get it again, I would get either E -tanks or liquid oxygen. Not the one you had which makes oxygen from the air as for an MCS'er -moldie I do not feel they are adequate in what they filter.  An E-tank is a cylinder type oxygen system.  I have these for back-up if something happens and my usual supply is not available. My usual supply is liquid oxygen. Which I prefer. It is also portable so if you go out you can take some with you on your shoulder in a carrying case. The tubing comes in different lengths. For the portable I get 4 ft. You can hook-up directly also to a liquid oxygen system. There is no cost in electric. Once I got a different kind of tubing and had a bad problem with it. So I stick to the salter brand.      Do not let them give you colored tubing either. Tygon tubing and ceramic masks are available at the environmental store. http://www.portableoxygen.org/   God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: nne <Roxygardens@...> Sent: Wed, December 1, 2010 1:30:53 PM Subject: [] Re: MCS and Oxygen Therapy  Pardon my ignorance but what is an E tank? Guest guest
Thanks for the replies.. I still don`t understand what an E tank is but I`am wondering if I purchased this tubing and ceramic mask maybe I could find out how to get this E tank . Hopefully its a one size fits all tubing for all tanks. Guest guest
An E-tank is usually made of aluminum which holds oxygen ,  like below http://www.phc-online.com/Oxygen_Tank_Accessory_s/106.htm   God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: nne <Roxygardens@...> Sent: Thu, December 2, 2010 2:38:27 PM Subject: [] Re: MCS and Oxygen Therapy  Thanks for the replies..
