Hi a,

I really feel it's so important to show who our children are at their

IEP. Each year mine changes a little, and this year I plan on making

a tri-fold brochure about Luke, with some pictures of him doing

things he loves and info about him. What I've included in the past

are sections like " Things to know about Luke " which might be

personality traits, what motivates him, any sensitivites he might

have, etc. I also like to include " What Luke Can Do! " which is a

section on his strengths (sometimes we hear so much about what they

CAN'T do...). I also have a part on Parent Concerns. I make this

separate from our agenda and goals for the coming year. I provide

this to the school at least a week or two prior to the IEP, and make

sure there is one for each professional invited to the meeting. I

think whatever you choose to do to showcase who your boys are will be

great.

Good luck!

> Hi .? I was thinking of making a book for each of my boys

to help people see them as who they are and what interests they have,

but haven't started it yet.? Could you tell me the kinds of things

you included, just to give me some ideas?? I was thinking about a

book including each boys' interests, family members, community and

church activities, friends etc...? But didn't know where to start.
