Guest guest
Dear Lee, The tablet form is not supposed to be too good because the heat involved in making the tablets will damage the colostrum. The best product is supposed to be the gelatin capsule. The powder isn't very tasty or easy to work with. Lee wrote: Hello everyone...I'm still alive! Well some days it's... But I'm here, that's the main thing. I have a few questions and I'd appreciate some advice. I haven't been able to get to the doctor for the AP yet. I'm too decrepit to get to the damn car. But will hopefully make it in the next couple of weeks I hope... 1) Colostrum seems to be very popular. I've been told you can get a herx on colostrum! Is that true? Has anyone experienced that? And is the powdered form taken in water (which doesn't seem to dissolve very well I might add) OK or is it best in tablet form? 2) What tests should my doctor do before starting me on AP to make sure everything is covered? 3) Are hormone/thyroid tests necessary? I had one thyroid test that was apparently normal but I'm very very thin and can't seem to put on weight. I did send you our list of Aussie doctors, didn't I? > 2) What tests should my doctor do before starting me on AP to make > sure everything is covered? The baseline tests are listed at rheumatic.org/tests.htm and PCR tests should be run for the entire panel of mycoplasma and as many other organisms that you can get tested for. Your doctor might also do blood tests for the markers of specific types of rheumatic disease. What other tests you can get probably depends on the 'bent' of the doctor you're seeing. Some doctors don't believe that candida can overgrow, for instance. ACAM doctors will also test candida levels, mercury levels, do hair analysis, test for vitamin/mineral deficiencies, hormone levels etc. The fact that you can't put on weight (like my daughter) suggests leaky gut or malabsorption problems. Janene is doing better since taking l-glutamine, olive leaf extract and amino acids - at her worst about 18 months ago, her weight dropped to 38kg (she is 5'3 " ) and now her weight has gone up to 42kg - still very thin but better than she was. Guest guest
Lee, I just found this on my drafts and figure it never went to you so am now sending this your way. I don't even know how long it has been sitting here just waiting for attention! Love, Dear Lee, I will respond regarding the colostrum. I take the capsules while my daughter with Chron's disease takes the powdered form because of finances as she figures it is cheaper. I have not figured it up to see. I started on the powdered form but found the taste abhorable. I do give my elderly dog powdered colostrum every night and mix his with a whipper (cannot remember the word for the instrument) into rice milk and he drinks it down. My daughter mixes as much she you possibly can, hers into water and drinks it down quickly. The " herx " is actually called a healing crisis as the mucous etc. is leaving your body. I have a friend who is over weight who has not ever had this but I do not think she takes enough to bring this crisis on. I take eight capsules per day and if I even think I am catching a cold or something, I up it to 11 per day. The healing crisis can feel just like a bad cold, a sinus infection, a light flu like feeling, chills, a little fever. My own was like a terrible head cold as I got rid of the mucous. Did not last long and it was about a month into the colostrum before mine occurred. Be sure to keep d rinking PLENTY of water. Dr. Sinnott took blood studies for mycoplasms, and RA and Lupus factors, SD strep (as this is treated before the AP is begun if you also have strep and don't know it), thyroid but don't know the name of the test. Other than that, he did not do any other studies but then again, he may on other people Lee wrote: > Hello everyone...I'm still alive!
