Welcome, Janette! Congratulations for beating the smoking habit and

rededicating yourself to taebo. 30 days in a row is tough (but I bet

not as hard as quitting smoking). What tapes do you have?

Hi everyone, i am new to the group, just joined today. I attended one

of 's seminars a long time ago - at an Omega conference at NYC.

I was impressed by the simplicity of the process and also by some

people in the audience who explained how well it worked for them.

For some reason it did not seem right for me at that time, but now

here i am. I have some very simple questions i try to deal with, can

anyone help me?

Bu nature i am a very outspoken/candid person, i have had to leave

several jobs in the past, and i have a hard time keeping long term

friendships/relationships simply because i tell people what they do

not want to know about themselves or others. Part of it had to do

with a very abusive past/childhood, which i have managed to deal with

through therapy/other self growth methods.

I have a much easier time getting along with people now than i used

to in the past, and the simplest thing to do is to be true to the

moment. But in an environment where most people want to cover their

ass and do what needs to be done to get along, how does one manage to

be honest to one's own self and get along at the same time?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

M

Welcome!

This group is for pretty much anything you want to talk about, or

ask for advice, or just vent.

My name is Amnesty, and I am an ABA therapist. I am not a parent of

an ASD child, but I have a lot of experience with a lot of kids and

situations. Anything I can help with, I would be happy to.

For your daughter, does she get any services through your area's

early intervention program that will continue over the holidays? Has

anyone at the school mentioned extended school year services? I know

for kids 3 and up, it is an option to get instruction during breaks,

I am not sure if it applies for younger than 3. I suggest keeping

careful records of her behavior during and immediately after the

break to track any behavior problems or regression she may have.

This will help you if you have to fight for summer school programs.

HTH,

Amnesty

Hi a, only have a moment now. But my first thought as to a supplement to

research for tics is magnesium. I don't know if you want to see if you can get

his level tested somehow, but if you try it (don't know what dose) you don't

want to " overdo " it of course. Here are 2 articles I quickly googled.

http://www.ctds.info/tics.html

http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/magnesium-000313.htm

I had given my son a calcium & magnesium supplement for a while last year. It's

supposed to help with depression and help with sleep. Like with anything I try

for him this past year or so (he's 20), nothing seems to touch his OCD/anxiety,

sigh. I bought a type that was, I think, a blueberry tasting liquid and he took

a dose each day, no side effects or diarrhea.

Just my first thought to try,

> Hi, so I just signed up to your group. My 10 yo son was diagnosed with ADD

about 3 years ago and I've just realized that these things he does I considered

habits are actually more like tics. My son does have OCD tendencies but I'm not

sure he has full on OCD but I am concerned that his tics will get worse. In

reading the messages, I think his case is rather mild. He is always doing

something, mostly with his face or some kind of sound. He recently went from

" stretching " his eyes and kinda looking side to side to doing what sounds like

hawking a loogie (not loud or anything, just barely,
