Hey Jayne,

So nice to hear from you!!!!! Glad to hear the update. I can vouch

for how pretty Emma is, and isn't exactly *hurting* in that department

either (just ask my 14 year old Alison....LOL) Sounds like they've adapted

to the move very well. Sorry YOU aren't feeling so good. Hope you

bounce back soon.

I haven't been formally dx'd, but I'm SURE I have carpel tunnel in my

right hand. It used to crop up once in a while, but since opening the

cafe, it's WAY worse. It's all the chopping and cooking. Oh well. So,

I should sleep with a wrist brace? Think I have one of those in my closet.

Good to hear from you!!!!

Hugs,

Donna

Hello all -

I apologize for not being too involved on the list since I moved. It's been a

busy school year!

I thought I'd give a quick update on and the rest of the crew... I'll

try to keep it simple...

School wise, continues to bloom - speech is increasing and he's now

reading the following words: " boy, girl, jumps, runs, walks, dog, sits, swings,

the " . It's very exciting. They're working on writing still, he's got the letter

F down but is now transitioning it to paper with a crayon - he doesn't seem to

want to use his index finger too much when it comes to pincer type activities.

His Ed Tech this a.m. talked about checking with OT to see if there was a grasp

they could use that relied more on his middle finger, that's what he's using

most. We'll see...

Emma and are doing well in school too - survived his first high

school midterms and did so well, I'm so proud! He finishes up the freshman

b-ball season on Thursday, today's his last home game.

Emma is growing up, she's almost 10 1/2! She's a fantastic girl with a heart

of gold and brains and beauty to boot! They change seats in the classroom every

so often and this week she switched to sit by Cody, a boy in her class with

Autism. She's so kind to him and constantly comes home with comparisons of Cody

and - I think it's good for her to see some of 's quirks in

others...

Me? Chugging along... Exhausted! I've been the one in our house to get every

virus in Maine - gee have anything to do with exhaustion??? Currently on week 4

and the end of the worst cold in history...

Was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel in my left wrist after my fingers and forearm

going numb... I'm not even left handed! Turns out it's the way I sleep - I'm

pinching that nerve all night long! So now I sport a lovely wrist brace while I

sleep and it's working - numbness has disappeared! Glad I checked into it early!

It's been unbelievably cold here... brrr. Had the water pipes burst a few

weeks ago - that was fun - NOT! Did get a new dishwasher out of the deal though

- have to look at the bright side...

continues to visit us when he can. In fact he'll arrive tomorrow night

and stay til Saturday and do the same thing in two weeks during February break.

Hasn't been overseas for a little bit and hope to keep it that way for awhile...

He's due to move here in Spring but they still haven't found a replacement for

him and our house hasn't sold yet!!!!!

Welcome to all the new folks - you've found a great group of people on this

list - THEY are the information superhighway!

Take care all,

Jayne in Maine

Jayne:

We have our good days and our bad just like everyone else. We have been advised

the best thing for her right now may be a more self-contained classroom. The

school has been fabulous, and really don't want us to move her, but it might be

the best for her at this time. Her transitioning stinks and it actually took 3

adults to carry her out of a classroom last week. She is going to be 7 in 17

days and weighs only 50 lbs.-could you imagine her at 12?????

Yeah, good days and bad days - I hear you.

Boy they can be strong when they want to! All 50 lbs!

So would she be with all new students that she doesn't know if you move her?

That may present a whole new can of worms...

Keep us updated.

Take care,

Great news!

Mom to Amy 20, Kelsey 17, Davey (DS) 7 and Will 7

-- Update

Hi everyone, had his check up with the cardioligist on Friday and he is doing really well. He still has a small leak but it is the same as what is was after his surgery last June and the opinion is that chances are slight that he will require further surgery. He said that the way his breastbone has healed is 'deformed' and unfortuntly just the way it has healed. The only way to possibly correct it would be to rebreak and trim it up however unless it causes any pain/problems there is no real reason to do this.My girlfriend had her birthday on Saturday and we went go carting and took the kids with us. They had a blast watching the go carts going around the track and a good munch out on some snags from the bbq! When I get my act together I will put up some pictures of and Maggie and make sure I include one of 's chest so you can see what I mean.Hope everyone had a great weekend!SamMum to (ds) and Maggie 18mths

Things are going well here -- we all have 2 more weeks of school (out on the 13th) and then the kids will be off for the summer, while I start my Master's program in OT on June 24th. It's busy, but we're getting into a good routine, and I feel like I'm balancing school/work/parenting/FUN with the kids better than I was in the fall and winter.

will be going into 3rd grade with the same classroom of kids she's been with for the last two years. It's an alternative program in the public school (general ed) and the same cluster of kids stays together for all 5 years. It's been really good for her! She spends about 2 hours a day in the resource room, and has an aide. She has made some great friends and plays with them both during school and on the weekends.

started a year early and now is going to skip 4th grade, and enter 5th at a "project based" middle school that is grades 5-8 and heavily focused in science -- right up his alley, he can't wait! So, in the "different twins" category, he is 4 inches taller, 2 grades ahead and 2 minutes younger, and even so -- after people finally believe they are twins, they ask me if they are identical!

Well, I have to go study Chemistry before I go to bed, so I'll get going. I've included a fairly current picture. I hope it comes in the email OK.

Checking in. had his year check up for osteoporosis after being on fasomax and his hips were better but his spine was worse. He also had a physical therapy evaluation to make sure that all exercises were being done correct and benefit his bones getting stronger. still attends a day service here in town which he enjoys.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here and it is so cold here in KS. We had a great Thanksgiving with family here and I cooked the turkey and trimings.

Hey Judy! I'm at my folks house now. Wish I would of known for sure I was coming, we might of been able to have a get together. Although I rather do that in warmer weather. Only problem is, that I don't visit more than once a year. They always come my way. Hope 's bone health is doing better.

Enjoy the holidays!
