Now, take a day off LOL! I know how fun it is when you first get started and you don't WANT to take a day off, but I really think the key to making this (or any other form of exercise) a permanent part of your life is to do it in moderation and give yourself a day or two off a week, especially once you start adding the advanced workouts to your routine! Way to go, Kathy
Guest guest
> I guess my greatest fear is and has been if I stop I > won't start up again, but I know with all the encouragement on here that I'll > continue..at least Wednesdays are a lockin!!! Kathy, I used to have the same fear because that was always how it went for me! I was a victim of the " all or nothing " way of thinking and I would either be doing everything right (eathing healthy and exercising all the time) or I would be doing nothing right (eating like crap and doing nothing at all). So, I was always afraid that if I stopped or took a day off, it would mean the beginning of a backslide! But, I can say that in the past year and a half that hasn't happened at all! I think that once I started giving my body a proper day of rest (or two days if needed), it actually made it easier to get right back into it because I was well rested and I enjoyed myself a lot more! When I first started Tae-Bo and had worked up to the Advanced tapes, I was doing them every day and I was getting really worn down. I was taking a day off, but I was still getting burnt out and that's when I started alternating Advanced and Basic days. My body responded much better to that routine and I started enjoying myself again! So, it's just a matter of figuring out what is best for you and your body! It also helps if you try to remember that this is not a journey with a beginning and an end! It's something you plan on making a permanent part of your life! There are going to be times you might not be able to workout as often as you'd like to, but that's ok! It doesn't mean you are going to stop! This is a part of you and you're doing it because you love it and because you want to be healthy...not because you want to lose a few pounds or because you think you " have " to! You know? Sorry to ramble on, but I can totally relate to that fear of stopping and not starting again! But, all I can say is that as you continue to do tae- bo and it becomes more and more a part of you....I think you'll realize that you don't have to worry about ever quitting again
