Guest guest
Hi, Josie, You have a few choices for interpreting the HLA testing. At the back of Mold Warriors Dr. Shomaker gives a method to determine which genes are indicated. It doesn't seem hard to understand but, I didn't find it all that easy. Another thing you can do is to send the results to Dr. Shoemaker and he will interpret them (at least he used to offer this service for a small fee - check with his office first). Unless he sees you in person he will not offer suggestions for treatment nor comment any further than to tell you what the genetic test shows - eg: you have a mold gene, the dreaded mold gene, CFS gene, the dreaded mold gene, genetic disposition to Lyme, etc. Also Dr. Shoemaker was willing to consult with doctors by phone for interpretation and treatment. He may still do this. When I got my results I called the lab. The person who answered did tell me what a few positives meant, but, then said she couldn't spend that much time with me. She indicated that if the doctor called the lab they would discuss it with him/her. (They may extend this service to your NP) I hope this helps you. --- In , PickPinkFlowers <haggisisscotsfood@...> wrote: > > I don't have a doc. An NP ordered the HLA test for me, at my request.
